Review updated:

We unknowingly bought a sick puppy from Mini Tuxedo Goldendoodles and had to lay him to rest today, just 6 weeks after bringing him home. The day we brought him home, our little Cooper was already experiencing symptoms of diarrhea, eye discharge, lack of appetite, and lethargy. Two days after bringing him home we had to rush him to the vet where he was hospitalized. He had ticks, giardia, and later we discovered he had distemper. All of this was a result of the breeder not protecting him while under her care.

It was the distemper that did him in, and it was a brutal and painful few weeks. He slowly began to lose the ability to walk, swallow, and go to the bathroom. His whole body twitched and he was so weak. My 7-year-old son had to watch it all and it has devastated him. We were hopeful we could nurse him through it, but he was just too small and weak.

Please take my warnings seriously and don't buy a puppy from them. They are poorly qualified back yard breeders who don't care about their puppies at all. When asked to reimburse expenses for the vet visits and hospitalization, K. refused even though it was their fault he was sick. Giardia and distemper both have incubation periods before showing symptoms. Since he was showing symptoms the day we got him, it was clearly from them and I have science and veterinary opinions to back me up.

California protects buyers from purchasing a sick puppy via the Polanco-Lockyer Pet Breeder Warranty Act, since the breeder refused to reimburse us for any of the vet expenses incurred we are forced us to pursue legal action.

To add insult to injury, we got his DNA results back from Wisdom Panel yesterday and he wasn't even a Goldendoodle. He was part Miniature Poodle, Cocker Spaniel, and German Shephard. I asked K. for the parents DNA results and have yet to hear from her. I paid $3, 500 for a healthy Miniature Goldendoodle and received nothing but heartache, thousands of dollars lost in vet bills, and a puppy who suffered.

Lastly, Their website claims they are part of the Responsible Breeding Program with Good Dog. When I emailed them to report Mini Tuxedo Goldendoodles, I was advised that they were removed from their program for not meeting their community standards. Despite being removed, they continue to include this certification on their website.

No matter what lies they tell when responding to this review, I will not go back and forth with them. They will likely have an excuse for everything, but it will all be lies and excuses. They have never taken responsibility for Cooper not being a Goldendoodle or dying due to distemper. Do you want a breeder like that? Or one that actually cares about your future puppy and knows what they are doing? When I told K. that Cooper had distemper, she admitted that she didn't know much about it. It's her job to know all about what viruses can kill her puppies and to protect them from harm. I sure hope no more of her puppies pay the price due to her negligence.

That's heartbreaking and I'm sorry you had to go through that. It's really uncalled for. A total rip off from con-breeders who need to be held accountable. I wish you justice in your legal persuits.
