The car I had died. I am 74yrs old and did not know what I could do as I did not have the money to buy another car. My son gave me money to go buy a car. I saw a nice looking Buick for sale at Mills Buick near me. I called and asked if the car was still for sale. They said it was and could come and look at it. I went down to the Mills Buick in Baxter Mn. I drove it around the block and it seemed to drive nice. We went in to look at making a deal. The sales man said the car had been gone through by their mechanics and the only problem was that the back struts would need to be repaired in the future. I decided that was ok. I told the sales person, my son wanted to get me into a safe and dependable car. He said he thought that was good. I paid him 8,000 by check. I drove it home on July 30th. I drove it for a little less than a month when a check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic and he tested it, said the cylinder #6 was misfiring. He went ahead and ordered a part for me and we made an appt to have the part put in the week after. In the meantime, another light came on, It was a traction light and the same day, my car started to make a grinding noise, we checked the oil and it was dry. It was full the day I bought it. I had to put enough oil in it to bring it up to normal on the stick. I was really concerned and took the car to Mills and explained that even though I bought the car as is, it should not have problems in a month of driving. The mechanic and his assistant said things happen and I bought it as it, and they do not have to deal with it anymore. They said they could do a diagnositc test which would cost me over a 100 dollars. I decided to have my mechanic do it and took it home. I did talk to the floor manager, he mentioned maybe a trade, but then started saying I would have to finance another car! They as much as said.. go away! I took it to my mechanic, and he told me he was very sorry, but the car needed a new engine, the timing chain needed to be replaced and other things. I sat and cried as I didn't know what to do. He said he felt really bad that Mills sold me a car that was about to break down. I had my mechanic write up a invoice showing what he saw needed to be repaired and the cost. I was looking at more than I paid for the car! These people lied to me. If their mechanic went over the car, it should of shown some symptoms.. there has to be prior problems shown by the 3 owners titles which I did not see nor was I informed. I needed a dependable car, and am 74 yrs old and I feel like I was deceived. I found out later, that the blue book price of this car was 2,200 and they sold it for 8,000! I have never bought a car myself from a dealer. My husband did that, and he died a few years ago. My son is very upset as well. He advised me to reach out to you and to reach out to our Mn Attorney General.

Desired outcome: I would like my money refunded so I can buy a dependable and safe vehical.
