I was recently contacted by MetCredit, a collection agency, regarding a balance of $1951.19 listed on my credit report. They claimed this amount was owed to Tribe Management, the apartment company I previously leased from. However, the condition inspection report they provided (attached) appears to have been falsified, as the balance was added after both parties had signed the report. I have included the original report for comparison.
communication from MetCredit was unprofessional and disrespectful. They were not open to hearing my side of the story and even threatened me with consequences if I did not pay the amount demanded.
I have reached out to both MetCredit and TransUnion to dispute this issue. While I have not received a response from MetCredit, TransUnion's investigation indicated that the report from MetCredit was accurate, but updated the balance to $512 without providing a clear explanation.

In case they do not answer you or refuse to deal with the matter, take it to the next level, that is, file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) or your own state attorney general’s office.
