Marriot Vacation Club review: Bunch of crooks! 2

It is ridiculous to try to book a week in the summer. After paying a large amount for the time share, each year you have to pay maintenence and taxes which is about 1400. Then if you try to book a week June through September you have to wake up at 5 Am in my time zone one year ahead to try to get a week. Good luck with that because the odds of that are slim and none. Save your money because for what you pay annually you can book a hotel wherever and whenever you like. (and that is after your initial investment) Your initial investment is worth about half or less the minute the ink dries on the contract. I believe they are selling in excess of 25K through Marriot and you can buy this from a current owner for about 10K on E Bay.
They promise you the world, but they are a bunch of crooks!

Just wanted to back up previous complaints on Marriot reservation(s) for timeshares at Newport Coast.

I couldnt agree more. They sell you one thing, make you think its so flexible, and you can trade to stay anywhere, and then ignore telling you about all of the fees required to do the exchanges. It cost as much in fees as it would to just book a dang hotel for the same period. Then when you call them they try to play all innocent like the way I understood the program sold to me was just not right. I WAS THERE. I know what the slime ball salesperson sold us. I had hoped that Marriott had a bit more integrity and wouldnt be sleaze balls like all of the other places you hear about, but I guess I was wrong about that.
