My 76 yr. Old disabled, service connected, us veteran husband and I (i'm 77, an epileptic with a deformed rt. Hand, and also legally disabled) desperately need several basic services. The spokane va grand-mannstaff hospital social work department has been doing an extremely unprofessional and sloppy job of supposedly assisting us. (we were referred to them by wa dept of senior and disabled care/protection. And, it is exceptionally depressing, of itself. I sincerely believe these individuals sorely need more extensive in-service, professional education, and direct supervision.) polina cartlow is the main administrator here. I have spoken (on the phone, I am bed bound mostly, cannot leave the house, and have to care for my dear husband, myself — with no assistance whatso ever, even though i, myself have a permanently, seriously injured lt. Leg from 3 recent falls. Being an epileptic, I cannot drive. My feeling is that my dear spouse, who is missing 1/4 of his brain directly during his service in the military, and i, have been seriously wronged by these so-called "social workers," who get big bucks for what they purport to do. Ms. Polina cartlow is the administrator of this va hospital department, and I have tried to communicate, politely, with her many times, to no avail. Originally, I wrote that department, carefully outlining my beloved 100% disabled service-connected veteran and my situation, but at first, I received no reply from them, at all. (at the time, my spouse/I had no phone service. This is a travesty, and never should have happened in our supposedly enlightened and medically brilliant society.) if you, yourself or a loved one, is forced to have to rely on the so-called uncaring services of these individual — ride them hard, and never let up.

Because I am not ashamed of these tribulations which my husband and I have been forced to endure, due to only the severe insensitivity and probably laziness, of so-called "professionals," I shall sign my name,

Catherine ann humberg, 77 yrs., 100% disabled. (and 20 year formally educated and trained pro-bono advocate for the elderly disabled and disabled veteran.)
