I'm not going to totally rip the co. I just want to make people aware. As a truck driver with 10 years & a million miles safely drove, I thought this would be the co. I could retire with. But, was soon disallustrationed, They tempt drivers with 78 cpm but dont tell u you have to buy the fuel, at todays prices thats most of your pay. then they make you pay for transportation to your next pick-up, which could be hundreds of miles, no compensation what so ever, and no pay for your time spent on the bus, and waiting in bus stations, dont forget the money it took to get to the bus station, sometimes a hundred dollars, as they leave you stranded in places a rabbit wouldnt go. What did it for me, on my 5th trip was a freak snowstorm in Texarcana, closed the bus station, their i was sitting outside in a snowstorm freezing cold and called them for help. John the dispatcher i talked to said, BOY, YOU GOT TO PUT ON YOUR BIG BOY PANTS AND DEAL WITH IT. with no offer of any kind of help, i could have easily froze to death, I responded to FK himself and so on, as anyone in a life threating situation would do. So, U can expect no help whatsoever if you work for this co. of good ol boy houisers, the dispatchers decide whether or not someone works, they dont even call you to see what happend, they just fire you, hundreds of miles away from home. It cost me over $500 to rent a car and get home. In my opionion this co. sucks bad, I would think twice before working for them. It works out to about 15 cents per mile all said and done, you would do better at burger king or anywhere.

... everything above is typical of drive away work. Some lose there buts, others are treated well. In order to make money at drive away, it is my experience that you have to use them better than they use you. Know your expenses be f ore you accept your next load. It gets easier to do this as you learn the trade.

I have work for Mamo Transportation for 13 years and yes there are problems with the company but if your pay is wrong you call your agent. My agent is the best she rocks. She always takes care of me. With anything that is going on with my settlement, with travel problems, with personnel matters, anything she helps me out. So it sounds like to me that you are not talking to the right people in the company.

Yes Mamo sucks...I took a truck from Nashville Tn to Va a total of 442 miles upon picking up the truck from Western Express it had NNO fuel so I had to buy fuel out of my pay to get truck to customer...total pay on run wawas $435 ...it cost $285 for fuel ...all they gave me up front was $300...it paid .55cpm plus .39 fuel surcharge a mile...REALLY? Ok that's .94cpm but fuel cost $3.79 a gallon...I had $15 left for my expenses during the trip...what can you do with $15 these days...the remaking $$$$ was put on my check on Friday but I still needs to get to next truck...bus tickets, cab rides, and meals arenarent free...sure they will advance you 80% of you're next load but time you arrive to pick it up...YOURE BROKE AGAIN...COME ON MAMO GET WITH THE TIMES...FUEL ISNT .39 A GALLON...TATAKE BETTER CARE OF YOURE DRIVERS!"!
