Is Living Stream Ministry some sort of rip off or scam? Pros/cons?
Their website says they publish the authoritative and definitive collection of work by Watchman Nee. Aren't there other publishers of Watchman Nee's work? How do they verify their claim?

Also I heard they kick out writers from the Local Church of Witness Lee if they refuse to use Living Stream Ministry as their publisher. Why wouldn't writers be able to use any publisher they like? Seems really strange.

Watchman Nee and Witness Lee were Christian teachers and both born in China. Ultimately, Watchman Nee was imprisoned by the Chinese Communists in 1952 and died in prison in 1972. Witness Lee was closely associated with Watchman Nee in China from the earliest years before WW II. After the war, Witness Lee went to Taiwan to minister and eventually went to to America in the early 60s. Living Stream Ministry is a repository of all the known writings of both these lovers and ministers of Christ.

ROMAN CATHOLICISM WOULD PROBABLY COME CLOSER TO BEING A "CULT" THAN ANY LARGE CHRISTIAN GROUP ON EARTH.
THEY BELIEVE THE POPE IS ACTUALLY GOD AND WHATEVER HE SAYS IS GOD'S SPEAKING ON EARTH EVEN IF POPES BEFORE HIM SPOKE SOMETHING DIFFERENT ON A SUBJECT. YET FEW PEOPLE TAKE ON THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FOR BEING A CULT. WHY IS THIS?

Yes there are other credible publishers of Watchman Nee's work. Christian Fellowship Publishers and CLC to mention two of them. For Living Stream Ministry to make such claims for themselves is questionable at best.

Which authors did they kick out for not using them to publish? Does anyone know?

I've heard Living Stream Ministry and the church Witness Lee started is a cult. It would seem so if they really are doing these sorts of things.

Who did Living Stream Ministry buy the rights from "a brother"? And which church made the decision you write of? Is Living Stream Ministry a church?

rjamestaylor it seems to me justcheckingitout is asking some good questions with no assumption of anything. If officials of Living Stream Ministry want to answer them let them come here and do so.

Seems like you first need to ask Living Stream Ministry to answer your questions before spouting rumors and assuming bad will.

Though older editions of his work are published by other publishers. The rights for any new translations and publications are owned by LSM. They have the most published works from Watchman Nee.

On the issue of One Publication read this http://www.lsm.org/onepublication/ In short while anyone has the right to publish the church decided for the sake of oneness and to not have confusions or conflicting message, this was the best practice.
