Did you hear? The Training Consortium has changed its name. So now instead of scamming overpriced and repackaged learning content to unsuspecting and trusting techs like me under the www.TTCLive.com name, they are now claiming the name of a company that people trusted and hijacked its reputation. Not sure how they can get away from this but it's sad that people will fall for it. I took training from the "real" KnowledgeNet years ago. They were in my opinion the best on the market. One of the TTC heavy pressured sales geeks called me last year and sold me and my manager an overpriced bag of crap (it's all just resold skillsoft learning). The customer service department never called me back (you can only leave a voicemail!). The content is outdated. The fact that they are changing the name is very suspicious to me. What are they hiding? Stay away from these guys.

I received a spam e-mail from them that started with "It’s been a while since we last spoke..." - yes, like forever, literally! We have not spoken. I do not buy training services. Ever. I would not have a discussion with a sales rep about training services. Ever. I do not accept telemarketing calls (ever, anywhere) and do not do business with spammers (ever). I *never* sign up or opt in for any mailing lists or commercial promotional e-mails with the work e-mail address the they spammed. Ever. So, spam with a misleading/untruthful opening line is a clear sign of low company ethics.

Well, I can tell you from my experience, I was harassed by a sales rep, and then promised a discount if I signed up by a certain date etc. I was told it was a trial and that they would call me to confirm. I was told that we would be able to make monthly payments. I was told allot of things that weren't true just to get the sale. Now shortly after signing up, we started receiving harassing collection letters for $4, 000. Only watched like 7 videos and it didn't seem bad but it definitely put you to sleep.

I can vouch for knowledgenet. We registered several engineers with them and later found the same exact Cisco and vmware training for half the price through Skillproxy. Knowledgenet offered to match the skillproxy price but ended up issuing a full refund as promised. Couldn't be happier with the training.

I have used training from the original KnowledgeNet, The Training Consortium and the new KnowledgeNet and have had no issues with any of their training. I love the fact that it's flexible but still allows me to learn from a live instructor.

I'm not sure what Jim's problem was, but it sounds like a personal vendetta rather than an issue with the service and product? Keep up the good work KnowledgeNet.

My name is Ryan McDonald, I am the Vice President of Sales for KnowledgeNet (formerly The Training Consortium). I, in good faith, believe the above “complaint” about our products and service was posted by a competitor and not by an actual, legitimate customer of ours. I believe this to be true for the following reasons:
1) I personally searched our entire database of companies and contacts for “Jim Orr” and “James Orr” and did not return any records.
2) I personally searched, and had a Customer Support employee search our Learning Management System for any user by the name of Jim Orr or James Orr. This search did not return any user accounts with either of those names. This system hosts all user accounts for our products. User accounts are never deleted, so if the name existed our system would show it.
3) The person who posted this “complaint” created an account on Complaints Board on 2/9/12, the same day they posted this complaint. This, coincidentally, was the day after our company announced the changing of our name to KnowledgeNet. This is also the only complaint that ”Jim Orr” has ever posted on this website.
4) Finally, and most compelling, we have discovered the organization behind the “Jim Orr” posting is buying Google AdWords on the keyword, “KnowledgeNet” to drive people to this complaint. If Jim Orr was a legitimate past user of our product, and was so upset by his experience with our company that he is willing to spend his own money to drive people doing searches to this page, why would he not have posted this complaint at the time he had such a poor experience? Why would he not have spoken to me or a Manager at some point? He doesn’t even exist in our systems. I will leave it to you, the readers, to make your own determination based on these facts as to whether or not this is a legitimate complaint or simply poor business tactics and a lack of ethics from a bitter competitor.
If Jim Orr is a legitimate past customer of ours, I invite him to call our offices at [protected] and ask to speak to me. If Jim Orr does contact me directly and I can determine he was in fact a user of our products, I will come back to this page, retract my rebuttal to his complaint and provide him a full refund. We always stand behind the quality of our products and service with a money back guarantee. Thank you for taking this response into consideration when determining if KnowledgeNet may be a good fit for your training needs. Feel free to visit us at www.knowledgenet.com to read more about our history, the reason for our name change and see what we offer. You can also check us out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/knowledgenet, where you can see a little about our company culture and why we were named a Best Places to Work.

He said he took training from the "real knowledgenet" - that is, presumably, the ones that had the name knowledgenet prior to you changing over to it... a previous company that went out of business?
