On Thursday 11/16/17 at approximately 6:30pm upon entering the second floor elevator towards the Kmart store on Metropilitan Avenue in Middle village, NY my car keys slipped through a wide elevator shaft. Panicking l went to the Kmart location to see if anyone could assist. After waiting for a very long long time as nobody had a walkie, the manager on duty called Mary was able to asssit me. SHe was very helpful as she got a flashlight and wire to try to get my keys. Unfortunately the keys were not insight or reach. Ms.Mary took my name and number and advised me that she would contact the elevator company shindler and that someone would reach out to me. The following day, Friday 11.17.17 l tried contacting the store via number (as shown on the website) but nobody answered. On Saturday l went back to the store as the number was again not working. At this point management took a long time to respond and when the manager working finally arrived, Pattie, she stated that she didn't know anything about that and asked if l had called shindler. l was confused because as far as l know customers are not supposed to call elevator companies on behalf on a company, at this point l am just frustrated with the lack of follow up and communication. This manager didn't even have the courtesy to come back with follow up in person... l understand that l lost my keys and not company's property but my car has now been sitting in the parking lot since Thursday and nobody has been able to give me a realistic time frame for resolution.

As a valued customer of Kmart l am disappointed. l need my vehicle and don't know if l should just contact the fire department for help.

Please assist me, thank you.

I don't know if the fire department would be of any help. Instead, you can reach Schindler at [protected], 24 hours a day. They should be able to have someone out there reasonably soon to help retrieve your keys.
