I purchased an indian outfit (like a dress) from this website. I discussed with them prior to submitting my order how to provide them with my measurements. They explained that I should take certain measurements and that was all they needed to make the outfit. I provided them with the measurements, they were clearly labeled and it said "cm" after each measurement implying centimeter. I am enclosing a copy of my paypal receipt so you can see how it was written:

Dear XXXXX,
This email confirms that you have paid khaas Boutique ([protected]@yahoo.com) $159.43 USD using PayPal.

Message: This item will be picked up at New jersey store by XXXX.

height 5'4", shoulder to apex 44cm, waist to feet 104cm, shoulder 40cm, above bust 90cm, around bust 100cm, below bust 84cm, around waist 90cm, around hips 100cm, armhole 43cm

As you can see all measurements were clearly provided. When I received the outfit it was not even close to the right size. I am small, this outfit was around an extra-large. I discussed this with the store and this was there response (copied from my email):

hi XXXX,

we apologize for the inconvenience caused to you regarding your outfit. looking at your measurements, i realize what may have happened as far as the sizing is concerned. measurements are always taken in inches and tailors work with measurements taken in inches as well. and your measurements in cms were done in inches with the same numbers you provided.

pls send us back the outfit and we will get a new one made for you.

sincerely,
lakshmi

As you can see the store has without a doubt admitted it made a mistake and made the outfit incorrectly. They go on to say they will "get a new one made for you." They clearly didn't do this, what they did was try to alter the incorrectly made outfit. Of course it didn't work, imagine trying to make an extra-large shirt into a small! I explained to them that this was not a new outfit as promised and that their attempts to alter the outfit was a failure. I asked that they either make a new outfit to the correct specifications as they promised or refund my money. They are refusing to do either. They are now trying to say that it wasn't their fault and the item was made correctly, this is of course an attempt to shift the blame, especially since they already admitted that it was not made correctly.

I accidentally came across this website and shocked at all the reviews. My name is Navyata and i have purchased couple of sarees and salwars past 3 years. Never had a single problem with the measurements or with Lakshmi. She has always been very sweet. Moreover the outfits they sell and the style, i could hardly find something close in entire Hyderabad. I agree they are little expensive but i dont mind paying for good stuff which are unique.

forgot to mention anouchka singh: we are aware of the lawsuit business and if any of the stuff mentioned on this message board had even an inkling of truth in it, we would even begin to have concerns. and if any of this allegations were even remotely true, we would've already been swamped with lawsuits. you are truly great to be advising and reminding all these xtremely honest people to file a lawsuit against us. this much display of love for your fellow countrymen, which includes us as well, is really commendable!

anouchka singh, consumer 1111 - it would be fair to join the bandwagon of liars and pass judgement, if u had a single buying experience yourself from khaas! apparently you all have so much time on your hands.

jasmit narula - pls do bring to khaas, all those outfits you allegedly ordered from khaas and we will gladly refund you the money. before you make more allegations in the future, pls do at least buy one item from khaas so that you won't be categorized among the group of liars who have been trying to throw dirt at khaas unsuccessfully for the past few years!

Laxmi is not a trustworthy person. You all out there be careful of Khass boutique. YOu will not get what you order and they lie like anything. The outfit I ordered was not upto my measurements. I think she sends the rejected outfits. Just be careful. Khass is a waste of money.

I saw the Khaas ad on TV and when I went to look them up found this website. I agree with the person who said "cutomer is always right...no matter what". Business is all about building relationships so the Khaas team should be looking into making their customers happy and not bad mouthing them online. After reading this I will NEVER shop from them.

Forgot to mention Khaas people:

If you guys reveal customer details as you have above, you just might be happily sued by one of 'em one fine morning...and they'll have proof of it if they just take a printout of this page ;) Haha!
Be Careful...n Be PROFESSIONAL!

I have to get some ethnic clothes for an upcoming event, so was just google'ing as where I could buy them from...that's how I happened to click on this link.

First of all, it's not only shocking, but amusing as well to find how people have reviewed Khaas Boutique...and even more amusing to read how the store employees have tried to defend themselves through this site.
Now that, T find highly unprofessional.

People may abuse Bill Gates with product complaints, but Bill gates will never defend his integrity through such websites, nor such language ;)
If you're good...you don't need to brag about it...people will judge you not only by your product, but by your professional conduct as well.

Bottomline...Khaas Boutique...you might have awesome stuff to sell, but you need to rebuild your professional etiquette.
You probably didn't learn at business school..."Customer is God".
So never abuse one, even if you're abused.

Speak Through your Product!

my sister purchased an enpensive outfit for my wedding from khaas and she looked stunning. she got more compliments than ever. lakshmi has been very sweet and has taken care of us in the past.

this past christmas, i surprised my wife with a salwar and gave laksmi approximate measurements. when the salwar was mailed, my wife was shocked at how amazing the fit was, given mere approximation. khaas has unique designs and price fits the eloborately designed pieces they sell. will recommend to all!

AND WE OPENLY INVITE AND CHALLENGE ALL THESE PEOPLE TO COME TO OURSTORE IN PERSON WITH ALL THESE ITEMS THEY ALLEGEDLY BOUGHT FROM OUR STORE OR ALLEGEDLY ORDERED ON OUR WEBSITE.

NONE OF THEM CANNOT EVEN WRITE WITH THIE REAL NAME BECAUSE THEY ALL KNOW THAT THEY NEVER BOUGHT ANYTHING EITHER FROM OUR STORE OR ONLINE. THE ONE OR TWO PEOPLE WHO ORDERED FROM US AND WERE TRYING TO ACT SMART BY GETTING THE MONEY BACK AS WELL AS KEEP THE OUTFIT, ARE THE ONES WHO ARE WRITING UNDER DIFFERENT NAMES.

IN THIS DAY AND AGE, IT IS A SURPRISE THAT THERE ARE ELECTRONIC AND PAPER TRAILS OF ANY AND EVERY ACTIONS / TRANSACTIONS DONE ONLINE WHICH CAN PROVE LOT OF THINGS!

this woman - preeya, jasveer, whatever name she goes by, has been trying her best to throw dirt on khaas for the past one year - clearly shows that she seriously needs to get a life. she just cannot admit that she made the mistake and that we tried to do our best to work with her to get her outfit to her specifications, her mother's specifications - whatever she demanded from us from time to time...before she started out to smear us on the internet, she never bothered to think about the guilt that can haunt one when they lie their way to get to their objective!

LAXMI IS THE BIGGEST LIAR IN THE WHOLE WORLD!Not only this but she also opposes you when you talk to her.She even calls YOU a liar. She is very rude and unprofessional. And look at the nerve to call your customers liars!
Lakshmi!wake up!you think you are clever but you are the dumbest person otherwise you would know better to run a business. You did the same to me.I spent US $750.00 on my outfits and non of them were my size.I was told that I gave wrong measurements whereas I have the record of my measurements in INCHES.How come UTSAV SAREES could send me exactly right sized outfits with the same measurements? You should be ashamed of your self.
Above all so many people cannot be lying. It must be you Lakshmi!Think about it.

I had the same problem. Postman delivered the item at wrong address. I brought it to their attention. The house number was right but the name of street was wrong. It did not belong to me. Remember, everyone is not the same.

This is a genuine mistake. How can you tell that the item was received by the lady? Do you have her signature?

Shame, being the seller you are writing about your customer like this. You should be courtious. How can you run the business like this if you do not have proper customer satisfaction?

I tell you Laxmi Nair, improve yourself and learn how to handle customers. If you continue taking customers name, you will loose the business.

So grow up!

This is in response to Laxmi Nair's complaint about receiving the parcel and tracking number.

I too was in the same situation about an year ago. I too had ordered online but had never received the package. They had tracking number, but I never received the packet. We recently found out that the postman had some problem and never delivered the item. Till now, I am furious that I had not received the parcel. There was not signature too.
My advice is did you get the signature of the person who signed the receipt of the parcel before taking and printing her name on complaint board? This is a very unfair practice to attack your own customer personally who put faith in you and ordered from you. Infact, you should be more curtious inorder to develop good relationship with the customer.
I am surprised that COMPLAINT BOARD let you print her name and attack her personally. Shame, Shame!

I CAME TO NEW JERSEY AT MY SISTER'S HOUSE TO DO WEDDING SHOPPING

We went to Khass Boutique. The lady wanted business so much as the economy is so bad. She was trying to be sweet. I purchased an outfit but it was so big. The lady, I guess Laxmi her name was said they will alter it.
When I got my outfit, it was so big. Never did anything. She never altered the outfit. My sister threw the outfit on her face and got so mad. The lady was so rude and liar. I still feel like screaming at her. She never gave our money back. The outfit is not wearable atall.

I urge you all, never trust this woman LAXMI at all. Do not shop at Kass Boutique. So many people have bad experiences.

this is in response to "xxxx" preeya grewal 's complaint, the facts as follows:

Ms. Grewal placed an order with us for an outfit and we processed the order and send it to her. When she received the outfit she informed us that the outfit is big for her and not her size. As common courtesy, I immediately emailed her saying that if it was our mistake, we will make a new outfit for her. I also asked her to send the outfit back so that I can check the outfits against the measurements she had send. Her parents brought the outfit to the store, I checked the measurements and it was made to the exact measurements she had provided us when she placed the order. I explained to the parents that the outfit is made according to the measurements she provided and that she must've provided us with the wrong measurements. At this point, her father mentioned that she did not know how to take the measurements and that she had added extra inches. Ms. Grewal wanted me to measure her mother and alter the outfit according to her mother's measurements, which I did and altered the outfit and mailed it back to Ms. Grewal. When she got the outfit she again had complaints that she didn't like the outfit after the alteration. I explained to her that an altered outfit will not have the same finish as a newly made one, which is a general fact with Indian outfits because they are put together by skilled workers in India and here in the U.S. there are no skilled workers locally who can work on Indian outfits with perfection.

The fact is that Ms. Grewal did not know how to take measurements and provided us with the wrong measurements. Her outfit was initially made with the exact same measurements she provided. As professional courtesy, we altered the outfit to the size she wanted and shipped it back to her, not charging her for any of this. We are the ones here who lost a great deal of money on Ms. Grewal's behalf.

I too have a very bad experience with these people. They are total liers. They don't send the stuff and charge your account. Laxmi lies so much . She never sent the package and wrote to credit card company that I wore and washed it and that I want to sent it back. What a lier she is. She never sent the package. So how can I wear it. Moreover, it was not for me too. It was for my daughter.

DON'T EVER TRUST THESE PEOPLE. NEVER DO SHOPPING WITH THEM. CUSTOMERS, BE CAREFUL WITH KHASS BOUTIQUE.
