I recently filed a theft claim with Lemonade renters insurance. I filed a police report, and had made a list of stolen items cost and where I bought them and month and year of when I bought them I also sent my landlord information a copy of my lease made a video statement. I was then asked for receipts for every item and told that if I could not find receipts for every item that they would not move forward and close my claim. Which they did. My claim was for 2 bins of clothing items (the clothes that we wore regularly daily) and a toolbox that had personal tools for home repair ect. The items were stolen from my tahoe during the California Santa Cruz County flooding disaster in March. We could not fit everything in one car and I was afraid to drive through the flood water. My husband came back 1 and a half hours later and our stuff was stolen. Our Tahoe was in our driveway locked when we left. Lemonade reps were cold and asked for more and more documents and demands and I feel never had any intention of replacing any of my items. There ads are very misleading I am posting a few examples below. This is my first ever claim.
Desired outcome: I would like my claim paid like they claim their company does so easily and helpfully. And they need to clarify their ad to tell the truth about receipts and what they will cover and how they actually conduct themselves.
