The best way a dental practice can grow is by word of mouth;friends and neighbors telling friends and so on.
and so naturally when i see the same two or three dentists advertising heavily in the medford area, i wonder why.

You see the same dentists, you all know their names ;john linstrom is one of the heaviest advertised, all giving discounts for exams and cleanings . now its normal for dentists to advertise if they're new to an area or just starting out, but when you see the same names year after year, you become suspicious.
are they trying to help anyone by giving discount exams and cleanings?

i hardly think so. after you see how much their fees are for doing very basic dental work, you begin to understand that they're hoping to find a few complacent and compliant clients.
John is quick to point out that he graduated from ucla and that may explain his beverly hills price tags on his dental work.

i visited john linstrom dds. on two occasions and found him and his office staff far more interested in catering to the young and beautiful rather than to the needs of the middle aged in need of affordable dental care.
and it makes perfect sense. providing the glamorous with beautiful smiles is more economically rewarding and easier to do.

and this explains why his concerns are more for your smile than he is for your swelling jaw.
I'm sure there are those who think john is a wonderful dentist and a review indicating that, will probably follow.
and for some that could be; but there's an outfit on the NET that will counter or have removed any and all negative reviews .all for a FEE.
so, just be careful when you see any of john's ads . and you see them in every mailer and circular in town.

A good dentist as any good doctor doesn't have to advertise . it used to be considered unethical. but linstrom advertises heavily in the junk mail post. he uses clever advertising gimmicks and come ons. it looks like he's trying to do someone, rather than doing something .

a good, honest and ethical dentist doesn't have to worry about fishing for suckers or clients. a good dentist is way too busy to pay for cheap ads . his reputation and skills speak for themselves.

your comment sounds a little like i would expect to hear from a paid refuter.

no, i usually don't have bad days, i get disgusted quite often with so called professionals trying to always screw their patients, who are easily intimidated by these
egotistical ###.

A few things and this is coming from another dentist
1-Advertising is good unless it is done without taste and violates local guidelines. Advertising allows the consumer to know what services are available or not.
2-The complaint mentioned that the dentist was not interested in your swollen jaw. To get to a swollen jaw usually there is some degree of neglect. All dentists cannot help a person with a swollen jaw and you may have been referred out (this is not clear). When there is an acute infection the freezing doesn't work and many times the patient has to be sedated. I know because this is what I do routinely.
3-Everyone that does not agree with your opinion is not a paid refuter.
4-I came across this complaint because I was checking out the dentist and he is a member of AMED which is an organization that I belonged to. This is a group of dentists that provides dentistry under the microscope. This requires extra training, financial commitment of a microscope and also slows down the dentist. So most dentists that use the microscope and more interested in doing quality work than making money.
So while I empathize with your pain and the fact that you did not receive the care that you felt you deserved given your circumstance, it is too easy for people to go online and malign someone that has spent most of their life perfecting their profession and who are constantly (I repeat constantly) having to perform at a very high level.
I would suggest that you call the dentist and speak to him and try to get clarification instead to anonymously slandering them online.
Sincerely
Dr. Denzil Nair DDS

I personally think that dentist, attorney, plumber didnt advertise they would be out of business so using the "advertising" as a ploy against this company I find to be null and void. The companies that scare me more are the ones who cant afford to advertise "probably due to their shaddy work ethics and lack of work". I have used Linstrom Family Dental and John Linstrom for years, I am 45 years old and I am not what most would consider beautiful. They have always treated me good and gave me a fair price (trust me I looked around and while they were not the lowest they most definately were not the highest). I would disagree with the comments based above. Could it be possible maybe you were having a bad day? I have talked to several friends of mine who referred me to this dental practice and they always had great things to say, and I am also one who thinks Dr. Linstrom and the staff are most pleasant, patient and a great place to go to when you need dental work. Than again, like the above was just your opion, this is mine.
