Jacks Roofing and Construction review: Roofing contractors that advertise free estimates with no commitments.

In December of 2021 I received storm damage to the roof of my house. My insurance agent came to my house and took pictures of damaged areas and informed me to get a contractor in for a repair or replacement estimate. I checked around and was informed to contact a roofing contractor by the name of Jacks Roofing and construction. I called his office, and his secretary informed me he was out of state. Keep in mind that this was December. I waited until March and called the contractor again so that the snow would be off the roof from the winter. Finally got him to contact me. Scheduled a meeting with Jack.

He arrived at my house with an estimate and a contract. The estimate was quite high and not itemized. He wanted a signed contract even before my insurance company had receive the estimate. I refuse to contract with him. During the visit he asked me who my insurance company was. I told him and he proceeded to tell me how that company was the worst to do business with.

I receive emails from Jake after I spoke with my adjuster, and he took it upon himself to review the line items and wanted to be present when the adjuster was at my house. I wasn't sure why he wanted this information nor why he wanted to be present while the adjuster was at my home.

But after I decided to have the roof replaced by someone else. Jake has decided to send me a bill for what he has decide has time spent making calls on my behalf at which I didn't request. He requests me to have him or his representative present when the adjuster was at my home. He claims he secretary and made calls to the insurance company on my behalf. I contacted each person at my insurance company that had anything to do with my claim and none of them have any records of Jakes Roofing and construction ever calling and leave a message or discussing my claim with them.

I guess I want everybody to know not to believe this contractor and his claims to do free estimates and no commitments once you contact him for an estimate. I would also recommend that you never sign a contract with him on any insurance claim before you and your insurance company have a final agreement of cost.

One other thing about this contractor. Instead of contacting me to discuss this bill. He has decided to question one of my sons at his place of business.
