Prior to switching to Humana I made sure that my prescriptions were in their formulary. After refilling a med that I have been taking for 10 years I get a letter from Humana telling me that they will not pay for any more of this drug because I need prior authorization. I contacted my Doctor and Humana denied her request telling me that I should try this or that drug first. I had already participated in that circus act 10 years ago and I did not tolerate the alternatives well, unless you consider time on the toilet well spent.
I also experienced giving a customer service rep a call back number "just in case" we got disconnected. Well we did and I never got a call back. I called back in after 30 minutes and got transferred to 3 or 4 different people who couldn't seem to grasp what I was talking about.
The Medicare.gov website indicated that my plan had a 0 Co pay for primary care visits and my Humana card says the same thing. First visit the Doctors office asks me for a 10 dollar co pay. I questioned that and was shown a print out from the Humana portal that they office uses to verify coverage and right there plain as day it says Co Pay $10 for primary care visits. I guess bait and switch is ok in Humana speak.
Very disappointed with this company because they are horrible!
