Where do I start? I have never left bad reviews, even if I had a bad experience somewhere, because I never thought it was worth doing. Still, my friend and I were utterly disgusted, uncomfortable, scared, and frustrated, and I maybe did this to get at least half of the hotel fee back for her because I felt horrible for booking this. I also do not want anyone ever to have to go through this. If someone brought their kids to this "hotel," it would be horrific for them.

I booked a trip to Denver for my friend and me and decided to use Priceline to book a package as this seemed more manageable for me to do and more convenient. I booked a hotel with HomeTowne Studios Denver-Lakewood West, and the pictures, amenities, and everything stated in the hotel listing on Priceline were not provided. I had a sheet on my bed (more like a cot, which was supposed to be a queen bed) and was uncomfortable like the other queen. The oven didn't work correctly. The place was so gross, and nothing was cleaned - the bathroom had ash all over the toilet seat. This location should NOT be a hotel if it is also a temporary living space for drug abusers and very sketchy activity. People were doing drugs in the stairwells, living in their cars, and the windows of one of the hotel rooms were broken. Our door only worked half the time (It was not the key - the door was warped from what looked like being broken into and manipulated, and the lock was not working well.

There was an awful smell of smoke in our room (this was supposed to be a nonsmoking room). We were provided one towel and washcloth between the two of us and a half-used toilet paper roll. Reading the signs in the lobby, we are only provided one towel a week per person (which we were not given enough for two) and one roll of toilet paper (ours was half used). As we unpacked, I noticed the floor felt dirty and looked at my feet, and they were black. We asked for another towel and toilet paper; they gave us just enough for one person. The "hotel phone" was unhooked entirely and had no cords. Our TV did not work and kept shutting off. The bathroom was not clean, and there was unknown nastiness on the walls that could have been cleaned off but probably had not been cleaned in a long time. Everything was grimy - we had to lay our one-hand towel on the floor to navigate after the shower and shower with sandals on.

On our first night, there was fighting outside and extremely sketchy business going on, and as we were both female and traveling alone for our first big hiking trip, we were terrified. I grew up in bad areas of a city and knew this was bad news when we arrived. The pictures and everything they say they have is a lie. The lobby hours are short since it's too dangerous to stay there later.

The first night we also encountered a mouse after we unpacked our groceries, and he was not afraid of us and had to clean out the cupboards because there was mouse poop EVERYWHERE! I can handle many nasty things, but this was just one terrible thing after another. We kept our dry groceries in the rental car (we caught someone looking into the windows once, and it scared us so bad we left for the night and slept in our rental car to get away) and the rest in the refrigerator and had to keep our garbage outside, or the mouse would just come and go whenever. You could hear the mouse making noises and screeching in the middle of the night. It woke my friend and me up all night and happened every day of our trip.

I felt so gross coming back from a gorgeous hike just to come back to this dump. Slum Lords ran this because, upon further reading, there are a lot of poor reviews, and I feel stupid for trusting that I was going to an actual hotel. Please do something about this, as I think everyone else's efforts have been futile. The staff does not care nor anyone. BBB was contacted, but that does not good when they won't respond to BBB, and I don't even know if they are accredited anyway!

They park a security truck in the handicapped parking, and it just sits there for days to make it seem like they are looking out, but I have not seen it. A person staying a few rooms from us lets their animals poop and pee outside their hotel room door. I am not making this up. As I type, I cannot believe I put up with this, but I just wanted to enjoy my trip and make the most of it, but this was mental torture. I couldn't even eat in there. It ruined my appetite having to clean up mouse poop to have a clean counter space. I can assume they don't pay their cleaning staff well, so they don't have much help because when you run a dump like this, you don't care as long as the money comes in or you get kickbacks for providing homes for drug addicts and/or people without housing. That's fine, do not advertise this on Priceline. It is awful, and no one should have to deal with that. Honestly, the pictures didn't do justice. I didn't want to spend my energy focusing so much on this on my trip but here I am.

Desired outcome: I would like a refund and for this to be removed from even being an option on Priceline. They need to be reported. They do not have a spa or fitness room or any of this.
