I hired Home Solutions (owner Brandon Dunnigan) to install a retaining wall, landscape a hill leading to my backyard, and install sod in my backyard. The initial work was great; however, the promised follow-up did not occur. In a period of 7 weeks after installation, he repeatedly promised and set times to come out to check up on the sod, replace landscape plants that he planted and died very quickly, and to re-cut a 3-4 capstones for the retaining wall that did not fit together well and to replace a broken block. Every single time he scheduled with me (at least 11 times and I am not exaggerating at all) and said he was coming and everything was on the truck ready to go, something always happened (e.g., blown out tire, vehicle break down, sick, water main break, etc. and these events are all logged in my phone and text messages along with the repeated rescheduling ). Now, two days after telling me he was restructuring his business so these scheduling conflicts did not continue to occur, he is no longer taking my calls. This follow-up would have taken very little of his time as I even offered to plant the new plants myself. My sod is in a questionable state right now. I hired him for his expertise, promised follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction, and his 1 year warranty. After being strung along for 7 weeks with repeated false promises and no follow-up, I find that a warranty doesn’t mean anything if the person offering it has no intention of honoring it. I would like to resolve this situation by having him complete the follow-up promised, nothing more: 1) assess sod and replace any dead areas, 2) replace dead plants, and 3) fix the cap blocks in the retaining wall.

    We had the same experience with Brandon Dunnigan and home solutions. In our case, he felt we were harrassing him when we asked him to come out and check areas of the sod that weren't doing well. As mentioned above, the 1 year warranty was a con and a ploy simply to gain our trust and our money. After consulting the Better Business Bureau and other landscapers, we concluded he fluffed our bill by more than $1500, promised a dumpster that never arrived, and didn't even remove the trash and debris. We had to pay a third party to remove it.
