Haus Vom Merkel puppy review: German shepherd puppy

In January of 2013 my family purchased an ultimate top pick of litter puppy from Dyan Merkel. The sole owner and so called AKC breeder of Merit of Haus Vom Merkel. We paid $ 4500 to receive this 9 wk old puppy. Apon arrival the male had a severe ear yeast infection and grain pyroderma and lethargic behavior and a very weak behind.. He was not well enough during his initial vet check up to receive his needed Parvo Vaccine. The breeder convinced us he must have caught something on his flight and asked us to give him time, and she mentioned her weather in Dallas was so awful during his upbringing that he had NEVER been outside so he was just unfit?. We decided to trust the breeder of MERiIT and ...The puppy is now 5 1/2 months old and has a severe case of Cow Hocks, a limp behind, underdeveloped backend, skin issues, soft ears, cross bite that has caused his improperly placed lower incissors to puncture through roof of his upper mouth...After checking with two seperate vets we decided to have radiographs preformed at 4 months of age which were highly suggestive of Hip Dysplasia..

We have emailed Dyan Merkel several photos and videos of the puppy and she has done nothing at all except point blame everywhere else except her genetics and breeding...She now has insisted we provide OFA radiographs that prove HD? If you are considering purchasing from her I beg you to look for another breeder. There are so many others out there that have more than 3 acres, good highered help, do it for the love of the breed...Not because they need your money...When she is confronted with a complaint beware...Read her contract up and down and understand ALL of it...She also has had her Vet excuse the issues of Cow Hocks...Google this and her website and personal vet and his notes pops right up! It is obvious she has had several buyers in the past complain about this as well. Cow hocks are a severe fault as far as the German Standards for this breed are concerned...Please do your homework and do not support this breeder...She is simply in this for the money...Not to better the breed...Also beware that crippling HD is EXTREMELY hard to diagnose through radiographs at a young age...Also understand why most vets recommend the Pin Hip procedure to diagnose this...
