In the last two years, our small business has lost 90% of our revenue (like most) and gained thousands of dollars worth of inventory. The first task on the agenda was to contact the utility companies and make them aware of our situation. I have spent the last eight months contacting Enbridge Gas Co. attempting to procure a plan to address the fact we are not occupying the space, cannot close the account as we have two years left on the lease with the landlord (it is up for sublease now) and do not have the means to be paying a standard fee every month as we have no income from the business. I applied to all of the government subsidies available to small businesses to be able to pay the rent, cover insurance, manage the existing accounts, and yet, as of today, months after applying, was told when I called, I did not qualify for the Enbridge rebate against the account. At this moment, January 19th, 1:38 p.m I have been on hold awaiting a Supervisor for 1:39 minutes on a workday. So, for the number of customer service reps, managers, and now supervisors who could not help rectify this situation which has resulted in missed work hours, continual duress, and now, I truly believe deliberately ignoring my customer concern (discrimination), I am holding Enbridge personally responsible. In my experience in customer service, I have never been treated with such blatant attempts to prolong and ignore a situation. If I submit every name and number, I will be vigilant until there is a just outcome which may result in legal action.
