I scheduled an appointment on May 28, 2022 under Student Booking on the company website. The assigned barber was Rachel.

When I showed up that day, the first barber that spoke to me insisted that there is no such person as Rachel. I then show him the appointment reminder from my e-mail, after which he accused me of saying "Richard" instead of "Rachel". I know what I said, even raising my voice and speaking slowly "RA-CHEL". But this Fool chose to hear what he wanted to hear. Then he said that Rachel is off today and asked if that guy sitting on the bench at the far end would cut my hair. I said yes, assuming he was a student barber. This was just the beginning of a service devoid of honesty and integrity.

The presumed student barber, hereafter referred to as Fool II, asked for a photo of what I wanted my hair to look like after the cut. I have patronized barber shops and salons for decades and not once (ever) was I ever asked to produce a photo. I'm not a hairstylist. I simply told past barbers and hairdressers very brief descriptions of what I wanted cut. Not Fool II. He apparently needed to be dictated by a customer on how to cut hair. So he started looking up in his phone to fine a photo that best describe what I wanted. Again, I'm not a hairstylist, nor do I have an eye for what looks good regarding hair. It was a struggle to explain to Fool II who chooses to act a fool.

When the haircut was completed, I was told by Fool II that it cost $25. I was shocked. Fool II was cold in his response on the price of service - starting at $25 for haircut - and then said that the barber school is located somewhere else. During my only other visit at Hair Masterz on Oct 11, 2021, Eric West - the supposed owner of the school - who cut my hair, had told me that the school was located in the same place as the barber shop - 6213 Rock Quarry Rd, #114. My appointment reminder showed the same address. Fool II lied.

Why offer Student Booking when no student barber is going to show up? It is a scam to charge customers full price when they're expecting student barber rates. I was charged $25 for a haircut that was supposed to be performed by student barber Rachel for $7. Even if Rachel wasn't available, there wasn't any student barber available to perform the service. Or so they claimed. I was lied to from the moment I walk in the door. After the scam was exposed, Hair Masterz removed Student Booking on May 30, 2022.

Dishonest, cold and expensive. If you're looking for student barber service, I don't recommend this place. I would not even recommend this place for a professional haircut unless you like being broke. There are plenty of barber shop and hair salons that offer lower rates for the same service. They don't set up scams like Student Booking and make you pay more when you show up because - according to them - the student barber is off that day.

Desired outcome: Refund of the price difference.
