The issue with Gregurich Plumbing (in Valley, NE) started in June 2018 and continues without resolution. They were a subcontractor for a builder on our residential construction project. The builder transferred all rights to claims related to their subs work (or lack thereof) as part of their contract.

Based on the billing practices of Gregurich Plumbing, they required prepayment for work from us totaling just over $11K for plumbing fixtures and rough-in labor. These amounts are split over 3 invoices. Gregurich's prepayment was provided to the builder to distribute to Gregurich on June 18, 2018. Gregurich signed a lien waiver required by the bank acknowledging receipt of payment.

Over the next 4 weeks we repeatedly contacted the owner of Gregurich Plumbing (Bryce Gregurich) as well as other office staff about completing work/procuring fixtures. Bryce Gregurich would not return any calls during that time and the office staff claimed they relayed multiple messages directly to him in addition to voicemails that were left directly to Bryce.

On July 24th, Bryce Gregurich contacted our builder via text message to notify him that Gregurich Plumbing was quitting our project/terminating for convenience due to other work they had. After Gregurich Plumbing quit, several calls were made to their business to get the refund due to us based on our prepayment for rough-in work (that was not completed) and for plumbing fixtures (that were not procured nor ordered from the fixtures vendor). No response nor any refund has been received. We brought in a new plumbing group with decades of residential new construction experience to list out and complete the rough-in work remaining. Their efforts took 8 full days vs Bryce's estimate of 1 day - clearly Bryce Gregurich was out of touch with the project and work actually required.

We didn't even get into the building code violations shared with us that Gregurich repeatedly does (including on our project) that result in increased charges to the consumer. As we've pursued this collection effort for our refund, Gregurich has went through a couple lawyers to delay or avoid making the payment that's well past due. It's amazing how difficult it is for some business owners to do the right thing and in this case it's not even money out of their pocket since we prepaid them. Last summer we were informed by other subs familiar with this issue, that Gregurich was fired from providing services for another residential builder - thankful for karma.

Reports/summaries have also been submitted to the City of Valley leadership (Mayor, Clerk, Building Inspector), Nebraska Attorney General and Better Business Bureau. We will continue to explore options like Complaints Board and local news consumer protection venues to educate others about Gregurich Plumbing and their business practices.

Hopefully this helps at least one person/family/ home builder and possibly more avoid dealing with Bryce Gregurich with Gregurich Plumbing in Valley, NE or avoid a similar issue with their plumbing contractor of choice.

We simply want a refund of cash prepaid for products and services Gregurich Plumbing / Bryce Gregurich made the decision to not provide and knowingly continue to withhold money that is not theirs. This is theft as well as extremely unethical business practice.

*For those who can provide assistance, we have documentation (lawyer letters, invoices etc.) available.
