June 18, 2022 my child was sick had problems swallowing and not feeling well. First red flag was when I entered the emergency room and there's no one at the front desk for a least 10 minutes. This is an emergency room for crying out loud, there should always be someone there for emergency reasons! Comes to find out, their all in back eating and having a conversation about their personal life. Then the same person who's suppose to be at the front deck now has an attitude, walked us to the room to ask questions regarding my child (temp/vitals). After placing us in the hallway on a chair, we sat and waited for 2 1/2 hours to even be acknowledge by anyone. I was so lucky to have met a worker who seen us suffering and offered a blanket for me and my son. After 3 1/2 hours sitting in the hallway while these doctors and nurses constantly walks pass my son and I and never acknowledged us in any way. I asked the same young lady who gave us blankets to ask if there is anyone working to help us because every other person that was in the waiting room hallway has come in and was discharged. My son was not a priority, socializing with co-workers, and gossiping was more important. The worker was able to get us into a room finally after waiting for almost 4 hours. Then the same front desk/nurse/receptionist continued to walk back and forth the room my son was in with a nasty attitude and she kept shaking her head as if she had a serious problem with me. I asked her if she could take another temp because after waiting so long my son felt a little warmer than when we first arrived and she purposely didn't relay the message to the doctor (negligence). Unprofessionalism at its finest. People like that should not have the opportunity to work in an environment where helping patients is a priority and not what you're planning to do this weekend. After all of this headache that day, they still couldn't find out what was wrong with my child. This hospital should not be considered a hospital. This place needs to be shut down and taken over by a new & improved owner who actually knows what it takes to own and efficiently manage a hospital. There's no excuse for the history of this hospital neglecting their patients, and the horrible stories the residents of pa continues to encounter regularly. Unfortunately I reside in pennsylvania, so I have to come here when in need. After what my child and I experienced, I will be calling my lawyer to discuss medical negligence of duty, and deviation from standard care. Make a change to help our citizens of pa and provide us with an emergency room that has basic regulatory inspection, public safety surveys, statistical indicators to improve management, performance, and quality.

Desired outcome: receptionist to be fired, she held vital info from doctor, and after speaking with my lawyer, I want compensation.
