Our experience with FortiFi Financial Inc was terrible
Our experience with FortiFi Financial Inc was terrible. There were way too many people involved in our loan process. We got "contingently" approved, but then a week and a half later, they told us we wouldn't get the funds. During that time, we didn't hear from anyone at FortiFi. When I finally talked to someone about our loan not being approved, she told my husband to "get a job." That's really offensive, especially since they don't know our situation. I won't be recommending this company.

The company left me with a big debt
"Dealing with Fortifi was a nightmare. Despite their knowledge of my contract, they misled me by falsely inflating a substantial debt with interest charges that were fixed in the contract. Their actions led to confusion and financial strain, as they claimed the contract had expired after making me sign a termination form to pay the contractor. However, they did not fulfill their payment obligations, causing the contractor to place a lien on my property. This irresponsible behavior forced me to incur legal expenses to rectify the situation. Overall, my experience with Fortifi was marred by incompetence, deception, and financial repercussions. Proceed with caution when engaging with this company."
Claimed loss: $10,000.00
Desired outcome: For FORTIFI to pay me lawyers fees

I applied in August 2022 and they checked my credit in one bureau
I applied in August 2022 and they checked my credit in one bureau. Then, a month later, they said they needed to check the other two bureaus, which they did. After that, I received an email saying my application was approved and I could choose a contractor. I've tried emailing and calling about 15 times, and during my last call, they told me that department is really busy and it takes them weeks to provide the list. It's ridiculous! Moving on, they never gave me the list of contractors. Now they're saying it's been three months since they checked my credit (which is not true) and they need to check it again. It hasn't been three months since September 1, 2022. They also told me it's valid for six months, and I have proof that I emailed and called multiple times to complain about their unresponsive employees.
There's a lien on our house now, even though our first payment isn't due yet
There's a lien on our house now, even though our first payment isn't due yet. It's preventing us from refinancing our mortgage and saving $400 on our monthly payments. We initially went through YGreene in October for our hurricane impact windows. They told us our first payment wouldn't be due until November . In May , Fortifi contacted us and offered a lower APR and yearly payments if we refinanced. This is our first home, so we're still learning. In May, our mortgage company offered to refinance at a 2.75% APR, while our current APR is 5.4%. This would save us $400 per month. However, our mortgage company informed us that there's a lien and Fortifi refuses to release it. How is this legal when our first payment isn't even scheduled until November through our property taxes? It doesn't seem right. I called Fortifi and offered to pay $13k towards our $22k loan to see if they would release the lien so we can refinance. They said no. I don't understand how they can place a lien when no one has defaulted or missed a payment yet. I need the lien released immediately! Fortifi is the only thing stopping us from saving $400 on our monthly mortgage payments!
