I am a single parent with two dependants and lost my job in March. Due to lossing my job I was evicted from my rental property as the rent was not affordable without a job. I was living from week to week on food vouchers from my community centre and the money I was getting from centrelink was just enough to pay rent and food and petrol. I rang up Esanda and told them of my situation in March and asked for a grace period as I had just got my loan refinanced due to financial hardship. They told me that I was given a few months to work out my situation. Now I have fixed my living arrangements, and then I received a phone call on 3rd July 2013 from a Private Investigator saying that if I dont pay a good amount of the arrears I will have my car towed and then have 3 weeks to fix it up. I have lodged a dispute with the Finance Ombudsman Services and just want Esanda to know that in a few weeks I am able to pay my arrears plus extra to be in front of my loan, and have every intention of doing so. I didnt appreciate the lack of understanding to people who are going through some hard times due to being unemployed. I find Esanda extremely lacking in compassion and not really willing to work with the customer to come out with a better option for the time being and are always threatening in their approach.

Not encouraged by reading above but have discovered the worse the financial position the more institutions "hit you". However my request is to resume payments from January 2016. I have two vehicles with which my income is derived . 1 . Contract Number [protected] ( Ssangyong Rexton ).
2 . Sorry can't find the contract (vehicle is Ssangyong Stavic in the name of Neil Moore) both vehicles are with ANZ but not sure if both Esanda ?.
My name is Neil Reginald Moore and accounts with ANZ are [protected] & [protected].
Like the above clients my wish is to resume normal (without loadings) monthly payments till my position improves. Regards Neil Moore.

We were in a very similar position. We're given a 3 month grace period and then we contacted them and said we were able to pay our loan again and they told us that we needed to pay an extra $200 a month to catch up, pay $1500 upfront or refinance! They charged us extra interest for not paying our loan for this period. They never told us this when we applied to have a grace period. We don't have an extra $200 a month, as this would yet again send us into financial hardship, we couldn't get a refinance loan as we don't earn enough now (nor do we think we should have to have a loan extended for two extra years because we had financial hardship for three months), and we don't have $1500 lump sum to give. We told Esanda we could start repaying our loan again, but they only wanted to make money from us in our most trying financial time.
My warning to all is to be careful of Esanda if considering them for a loan, but be even more careful if you ask for a grace period because it will come back even worse.
Will be taking out case to the ombudsman
