I've had many issues with website administrators (admins) in the past, because of their god complexes. So I have left several sites because the admin(s) think themselves so far above everybody else.
And EC seems no different. Sure there are some admins on this site who are awesome people, but one in particular seems to a highly motivated UN-friendly person.
I had a couple of questions about the policies and one admin referred me to another one. One who apparently has a HUGE 'chip' on his shoulder, as my questions were summarily dismissed, as if I were a servant daring to speak to the Queen of England!
This site labels itself as a tolerant place for all types of people. And yet, here this guy is giving me major attitude because I was curious about a one of their policies. But yet, I get attitude and I get my questions dismissed as if I am nothing more than a flea.
This specific admin is FAR from anything that this website preaches and claims it practices. Tolerance is not in this admin's vocabulary, nor are people skills, or professionalism.
Sad.
What ever happened to suing people for false advertising?
I also have to add, that you would think a place calling itself a "charity organization" working off donations would treat people civilly, in hopes of getting donations, instead of acting like they are so above everybody else, and can't be bothered with them!
Being civil and answering peoples questions = donations.
Being egotistical and acting like you are SO above everybody else = NO donations, EVER!
Add me to the list of people victimized by overzealous admins. A regular poster asked a question about fat distribution on HRT, I answered honestly and politely, and the OP snapped at me. I then told the poster to see his MD because his testosterone level was probably running high. BANNED.
As both a member of the community and as a licensed MD, I joined to help others, but this website has really caused me to become openly hostile to the LGBT community altogether. Their message to me is clear... NO LESBIAN DOCTORS ALLOWED. I'm so mad I may stop offering free neighborhood LGBT clinics IRL.
Yes. I would be careful as to whom you give free services to, as far as the "LGBTXYZ" hate groups are concerned. And yes, there are MANY, MANY gay hate groups that are gay themselves! These are the ones that are made up of all the self-righteous, narcissistic, self-entitled, arrogant hate-mongers that have sold out all the decent gay populous to the muck-rakers and money grubbing advertisers out there. It's all about the money and fame. They've sold us all to the corporate devils.
They don't care about the lies, hate, and hypocrisy they harbor, foster, preach, and spew out of their diseased mouths! As long as THEY keep their god complexes, they will continue to treat people like dirt.
I received a similar lifetime ban after 2, 000 posts and widespread respect from the user base. My offense? Complaining about a new member whom was creeping on the trans people on the site. (Said member were themselves banned about a month later...for creeping on the trans people on the site!) IMHO, the admin staff--who, despite the large trans representation there, number not one transperson among them--are not trans-friendly period.
I totally agree. Anyone who questions a certain administrator/moderator is banned.

I was badly bullied by an administrator (the same one with a Chip on his shoulder) on the Empty Closets Forum for questioning their hierarchy of members and picking and choosing who can be in their elite group. My wall comments were immediately deleted, my Farewell Post was deleted. When I objected, it was all my fault, and I was given a list of my "misperceptions".
When I asked to have my account deactivated, I was banned ... guess for how long? FOREVER.
WOW! Honestly, it said forever. I had not had any major issues, was not a troublemaker, loudmouth
or troll. I'd had 511 posts. I identified as a celibate Christian though I am 100% pro-gay and pro-gay rights,
and I suspect the fact that I was openly Christian is one reason I was not let into their exclusive club.
It is very hard to believe a site that is supposed to be a supportive community for LGBT would have such a harsh policy as to impose a lifetime ban because I disagreed with a Moderator and asked to have my account deactivated because of his harsh response.
This is very hypocritical of that site. I've never seen anything like this before! The EC organization needs to look at this administrator who has a God complex. Check into how often members are "banned". It happens swiftly, with no warning and no recourse.
