This is my experience with elocallisting.com
I was in the market for a web site optimization company when I received a phone solicitation from a gentleman desperately trying to sell me a service and it was difficult to get this guy off the script and sales tactics. Being a salesperson, I know it is never a good thing to sell something that is already sold! Ok. That’s a whole different story.
The problem that I have is non-performance & follow-up skills any half way decent company would have. I accepted an offer through this company that stated that they would have my company listed on Yahoo.com front page in about a week’s time and within 40 days; I would be on Googles front page. The package cost $99.00 set up fee and my monthly charges would be $99.00 per month, starting when the first listing was active. If this was not performed in the said time, a refund would be made from the initial set up fee.
The Yahoo did show up within the said time frame but it was under “Yahoo locals”. I already had my listing under “Yahoo Locals” and I believe the cost for this service directly from Yahoo is around $14.00 but I didn’t complain since my real objective was to gain the front-page spot in Google. I did make a call to the sales team and expressed my concern since the Yahoo local search that they had now implemented had a very limited key word search. By employing this company they actually decreased my visibility through Yahoo Local. My elocallisting.com rep said that he would look into the matter and supply me with all of the key words used to capture my listing…this was never performed. I started with elocallisting.com January 27th 2010 and today is March 21st.2010, I have made several calls and the only service is a voice mail with no returned calls. I have emailed this company explaining this non-performance issue only to fall to deaf ears and with no reply. This email also was my notice to cancel and I am sure that I will have to dispute charges with my credit card.
Since I have had these issues, I have done some work researching the company and have found some similar complaints and oddly enough I have seen replies from elocallisting.com defending their position, which baffles me on, why wouldn’t this company address a customers concerns/problems before they had to smear mud across the internet on some “complaint board”. My only thought on this matter is, management communication. This company could be fantastic but the foundation has a major crack and postings like this will cause it to topple over.
If anyone is searching to better their company through optimization, I would try to learn from others mistakes and not use this company

Elocallisting.com is a JOKE - The telemarketer told me only one vacation home in our area would ever be listed - they'd "shut down" my key words internally for Wimberley ... . This was very not true and the customer service rep said they do "about 3" ... not to mention I waited over 60 days to get them to change our URL as it was first listed incorrectly. They kept telling me it was yahoo's fault. I tried to cancel repeatedly and they put you on hold forever then transfer you to a manger who is worse than a used car sales person. "Don't you want to be #1 on the yahoo board? Look! There you are!" I said yes, I do want to be #1 and I'll find an ethical SEO firm that will do it for me.
This place is a "JOKE". Everybody in that place is on some type of dope. It probably wouldn't be that way if they drug tested. But after all everybody that works for this place has to be an ex con or felon to work there. No background checks are done. I thinks Osama Bin Laden could actually work there he would fit right in! The upper management knows about the drugs but since they only care about the sales, this is why they don't drug test. I normally wouldn't talk down on a company cause buisness is buisness, but when you don't care about your employee's and you just lie and don't care how a sale is obtained then it becomes dishonest. They try to "Brainwash" you in to believing it is a good company but it is not at all. I wouldn't be suprised if this place goes out of buisness really soon. If you work for Elocal get a real job. Aren't you tired of those Brainwashing Monday meetings .. "Elocal Rocks" HAHAHAHAHAHA!
I hear you about your grievances with eLocalListing. My opinion of eLocalListing is I’m very disappointed.
I've been providing local listing services to my clients for a few years. I signed up as a eLocalListing reseller agent years ago in expectation that their service was more thorough that what I could do myself, but I quickly regretted that decision. Some of my clients got their local listings posted within the time frame suggested by eLocalListing's staff. Yet, some never appeared at all. However, eLocalListing did honor their no questions asked termination policy. I ended up successfully posting the local listings myself, which left me doubting why I should send my clients to their service at all.
My disappointment grew as eLocalListing seemed to be turning over staff at an unusual high rate. The people whom I knew on a first name basis were removed or replaced with personnel who treated me like a number. Keep in mind that I’m supposed to be one of their agents and not just another customer. Adding insult to injury, I was constantly getting inquired by eLocalListing staff for opportunities not related to eLocalListing. It seems like everyone at eLocalListing was into an MLM program. I finally said enough is enough. I stopped signing up clients to eLocalListing service and I eventually terminated service to the clients who were already signed up.
F.Y.I. - The services eLocalListing offers can be done by yourself for free. Contrary to what they tell you, they don't have a special relationship with Google, Yahoo or Bing to get your local listing posted any faster than if you did it yourself. I will say that their local listing posts are very thorough. If at the least, their work is something to model in how to do it right.
I will say that that posting your local listing is VERY important even if you have eLocalListing do it for you. A local listing in the major search engines (Google, Yahoo and Bing) can generate more phone calls than a yellow page ad at a fraction of the cost (or cost NOTHING if you do it yourself).
I hope the eLocalListing staff takes these posts to heart and clean up their act. They’re making the rest of us in this industry look bad. God forbid they close up and send scores of people in Temecula, CA to the unemployment line.
