Elizabeth Barton review: Unethical and unfair practice 1

Utilized services from Ms. Barton for the reunification of my child and myself. My child and I were having some parent/child problems that could easily be worked out. I thought our relationship was back on the mend until a letter Ms. Barton provided a letter to the courts that there were serious problems at my home. Ms. Barton determined, without any hard evidence, that my spouse and I were to submit to drug and alchohol evalutaions. My spouse and I have never had any prior issues from drugs or alchohol. A two page letter explaining how terrible my spouse and I were, was written to the Judge. She stated there was violence, drug and alcohol use. We haver never had this type of behavior and we determined this was thought up from my exspouse providing incorrect information as has been done for years. Ms. Barton also made a determination about my spouse without ever meeting with them. I was no longer allowed to see my child. In order to clear things up, my spouse and I had a drug and alcohol evaluation (not court ordered and paid from our own pocket) from a company provided to us by the County Health department. In January 2011, I sent a letter to Ms. Barton asking for an explanation for the numerous negative interpretations she provided in her letter to the Judge. I also included copies of our drug and alcohol evaluations and requested to make weekly appointmens with myself and my child to possibly clear things up. I never received a phone call back. I then sent the letter certified two times and called her office on numerous occasstions there was NO response. I found this interesting that she could not respond to her own remarks and judgements. I filed a complaint with the board of Social Workers and I am awatiting a reply. It is now April 27th and because of the twists and lies that were provided, I have not seen my child. I have also found out that there are numerous other complaints against this therapist. She clearly takes sides and this effects lives. She has damaged my child and my relationship and my child will most likely suffer throught their lives. Ms. Barton is clearly unprofessional and if you have a child and or parent child issue, DO NOT USE HER SERVICES!
