First Complaint below, summarizes the situation, from Reddit u/johnxman

2 years ago: u/johnxman

So, I have a Frigidaire dehumidifier which is not working correctly. So i looked on the back of the unit, and there's a printed 800 number to call. I call it and get a recording that says "due to high call volume..." -- but instead of giving me a hold time, a chance to leave a message, or a chance to get a call back, they simply say they CANNOT answer my call. Just before they summarily hang up, they mention a chat feature on their website. So i go to the website, and there's an icon for "chat with us" but when you click, NOTHING happens. it's not a chat link at all. Needless to say, this was frustrating.

So then i go to their "leave a review" page, and i leave a review pointing out that their supposed customer service is nonexistent, therefore fraudulent. Here's the text of what i said:

" They claim to have an 800 number for customer support; it's printed right on the serial number label of the machine. But when you call the number, a recording says that "due to high call volume" they can't take the call. No way to leave a message. no way to get a call back. They do say that their live chat is always available on line, but when you got to Frigidaire customer support and try to click on live chat, it DOES NOTHING; does not start any chat. There is no way i can find to contact them at all. Basically, you buy their product, it breaks, and they leave you high and dry. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! "

A little while later, i get a reply saying that they "could not" post my review! And they gave a whole bunch of reasons for refusing to publish it, none of which were true. Here's what they said:

Thank you for choosing Frigidaire. As a valued owner, your opinion matters greatly to us and to other customers. We welcome your thoughts and appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Unfortunately, your review could not be posted for the reason listed below. Please take a moment to update your review so we can post it on the site.

Thanks again for your valued feedback.

Mention a competitor

Includes personally identifiable information

Mentions shipping complaints

Including inappropriate media

Contains a URL

Product is obsolete

Is vague or needs more detail

Includes profanity

As you can see, all eight of these supposed "reasons" is false. Obviously they only publish positive reviews. So much for the review feature of their website being of any use.

Anybody else have these kinds of problems with them?

Now, it's two years later, and people are experiencing the same exact problem. I've tried to access Frigidaire for the past two days, morning, noon, and night - nothing.

Here is what I wrote to the complainants:

Here's what to do: I spent an hour trying to get through to them. Same experience. In fact, I chose every option that was available on their bogus menu - I kept getting the same message - to try again later. Waste of time. I'm contacting the better Business Bureau and US Consumer Protection agency. Then, with your permission, I'm copying each of these notes, and sending them to as many consumer programs I have the time to look up. I also suggest you contact the place that you bought the item from - certainty, they don't want a bad name. This will take time, but these people can't get away with this crap. I'll get the name of as many of their "higher-Ups" as I can and send to them! I suggest you do the same.

And here is my problem: I have a Frigidaire Oven, Model FFEF3016VSB, Serial #: VF03297605. My electric burners turn off while I'm cooking. When a burner is on to, for example boil water, the water may just get to boiling, and the burner shuts off.

All I wanted to know from Frigidaire, before I had to pay $200 for a service call was why is this happening, is it normal, and is there a way to get around this problem.

Frustrated,

Thank you.

Desired outcome: #1.) Stop treating customers like crap, and #2.) Get my burners fixed.
