eHeat reviews and complaints
Did not work, only partial refund
I ordered the eHeat Envi heater HW1012T and paid an electrician to install it. I was aware of the fallacy of heat savings from a "portable" heater so I realized "the wall-mounted envi heater can deliver up to 50% savings on your heating bills" was at best a fantasy, at worst a lie. Still after installation in a well-insulated small room of 153 sq. ft., on a 50-degree day, it could not increase the room temperature by 2 degrees after 2 days of constant use. It was totally worthless. I contacted the company which did not offer a replacement in case it was defective - something I regarded as revealing. They reluctantly agreed to accept return fir a 25% restocking fee. WOW! A 25% margin for nothing - they have found the secret to wealth! When I say my credit card statement, the fee was 37.5% as my credit was only $88.96. This does not include the almost $20 it cost to send it UPS. The website guarantees 100% satisfaction but apparently that is more marketing only. I highly recommend choosing another heater!

Made me pay for their faulty timer replacement
I am very distressed by the customer service of eHeat. I bought one of their wall heaters for $139.95 and a Programmable Digital Wall Switch Timer (PLS730B1003) for $29.95. I had two persons, an electrician and my dad, check out the wall switch after seeing that it wasn't working after installing it. We found that it was a defective device and I called to have it replaced.
I was told that 1) it was going to cost me $10.00 because I had pulled the decal off the dial face that simulated the time and 2) it was going to cost me $10.00 additional for postage. I could have bought this type of timer at Home Depot or Lowe's for half the price. I mistakenly thought that this would save me time and money by buying both items at the same time as now I am to go out to buy a replacement for this defective piece of merchandise foisted on me by eHeat.

Every prospective buyer should know the eHeat policy on returns.
Without disclosing before the sales of their merchandise, every prospective buyer should hunt for and look at Support>Return Policy>Nonreturnable Items before ordering as they apparently disavow any responsibility for their liability of their products:
Hardwired heaters that have been installed and/or used are NOT returnable. These items require permanent modifications in order to be installed and as such cannot be refurbished for resale. These models are HW1012T, HW1012N, HW1022T and HW1022N.
Products that are not returned in the original factory packaging are NOT returnable.
Products that are damaged through customer misuse, are missing parts, or is in unsellable condition due to customer tampering or abuse are NOT returnable.
Thermostats and timers that have been opened and the wiring altered during installation are NOT returnable.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They are just not a reputable company. Consumers should avoid any purchase.
I recently ordered a unit that was defective out of the box and was unable to turn on.
I returned the unit and company then claimed I tampered with the components and voided the warranty.
They also wanted me to pay for the repairs.
I need to travel to the Houston area within the month, I'll be visiting these thieves to discuss their Consumer Fraud policy in person.
I purchased a couple of Envi heaters and they worked okay for a period of time before dying. The one I have in my kitchen emited a smoky electrical smell and then just stopped working. I called the company and was told that it was no longer under warranty and to return it for repair for a $60-$70 repair fee which I did. The next time I needed it in the winter, it worked for a day and that was it.
These heaters are a rip-off.
