If you are ever looking for a stone mason to jazz up your fireplace DO NOT HIRE DWAYNE HOLBROOK! He's by far the most unprofessional person I have ever met! He's lazy, incompetent and lied about his expertise. Mr. Holbrook put an extension cord behind the stone fireplace, hooked it to power and placed the extension cord right on top of the inner metal portion of the fireplace. So basically when my husband and I go to use the fireplace for the first time in our new house, we would have had an electrical fire that could have burned our house to the ground! He improperly installed our new mantle and it's starting to sag, there are holes in the floor where stone should be, the hearth stones are crooked so there are jagged pieces of rock sticking out, there are big gaps between the hardwood floor and the stone. I made sure to buy plenty of painting blankets so that our hardwood floors would be protected only to walk in my house and see a bunch of sharp, jagged pieces of stone literally under the blankets and this heavy footed [censored] grinding them into my hardwood floors. He installed the outlets for the tv a few inches above the mantle (which makes no [censored]ing sense and looked [censored]ing ridiculous) AFTER I told him I wanted the outlets dead center between the ceiling and the mantle and then when I asked him to fix it he stomped around, started mumbling under his breath, throwing a temper tantrum like a 4 year old! He left all the old stone from the old fireplace in my garage and when I asked him when he planned on coming back to remove it he actually told me to put it on the curb for trash pick up. Now picture the situation here... we are talking about boxes upon boxes of extremely heavy stone/concrete. For Christ's sake the guy from Stucco Masters who delivered the stone, material, etc., had to use a forklift to get the skid into my garage, not to mention the fact that Rumpke has a weight limit for trash pickup and would have just left it on the curb. A REAL professional stone mason hauls away the old rock, concrete, debris, garbag, etc., the very day the job is complete. No muss no fuss! If he was a true professional I should have NEVER had to ask him to come back and collect the refuse. He should have just done it considering it is a part of the job. It's what we call basic common sense! When he finally did come back to the house to collect the trash he [censored]ed and moaned about it the whole time, acting like I was putting him out! I could go on and on and on! Luckily I took pictures and recorded the whole thing!
