Extremely Disappointing Customer Service — Agreement Was Not Honored And Ingredients Not Listed On Product/Website
I placed my first order ever with Donotage in June 2026 for the newer 15-in-1 sachets. Before ordering, I carefully reviewed the ingredient list for ingredients I cannot tolerate or normally avoid. Also reviewed the return policy. After purchasing, I discovered the product contained Stevia and Erythritol, both of which I have typically reactions to.
I decided to try half a sachet for 4 days and on day 5 could not even stomach the taste and effects of a few sips... my reactions made it impossible for me to continue. I contacted Donotage to request a refund. I was initially told I would have to ship the product back to the UK at my own expense. I was quoted more than $90 for return shipping, which was completely unreasonable considering that was nearly half of what I had paid for the product. I questioned why there wasn't a U.S. return option or another reasonable solution.
At that point, a representative from the company contacted me directly to discuss my experience. He acknowledged that other customers were also having difficulty tolerating the product and explained that they were working on removing the Erythritol. I informed him of my issues with Stevia as well and concern to try the revised product. He really wanted me to stay with the company and try the revised product once it became available, which I was told would be "in a few months."
He specifically told me I did not need to return the product I already had and could "give it to someone else or throw it away." He offered approximately $200 worth of free product to try while waiting for the revised sachets. He also told me that once the revised product was available, another bag would be sent to me free of charge and, if it did not work for me, I would receive a full refund without having to return it.
I was hesitant and suggested that they simply refund my money now and send me a few revised sachets to determine whether I could tolerate them rather than sending me another full bag. He insisted that they wanted me to try the revised product and some of their other products in the meantime.
I agreed based on those terms, and I have emails documenting the conversation and confirming my understanding of the agreement before I accepted the offer. The company even placed the order for the "free" products for me after I had difficulty using the credit they provided.
Fast-forward to last week. I contacted Donotage to find out when the revised sachets would finally be available. I was then told they would not be ready until the end of 2026 or possibly into 2027. This was already far beyond the timeframe I was originally given.
By this point, I had also realized that I was even more reactive to Stevia than I had previously understood. I therefore contacted the company and asked for the $203 refund that I had been promised if the product ultimately did not work for me. I even explained that refunding me now would actually save the company money because I knew I would not be able to use another bag of the product.
At this point, after months of waiting and repeated changes to the timeline, I simply wanted the refund based on the agreement that had already been made.
Instead, I was asked how many sachets I had left
As I suspected, the terms suddenly changed. I was told I would receive only $8 credit due to my using $195 of my credit for the supposedly "free" product and would have to return the 23 remaining sachets for a 50% refund in store credit.
This is extremely frustrating because the representative specifically told me I did not need to return the original product and could throw it away or give it to someone else. Had I followed his instructions and thrown the remaining sachets away, I would have had nothing to return now. He also insisted on giving me free product for my troubles and to keep me engaged in the process.
I have the emails documenting the conversations and the agreement. This is not a case of misunderstanding what was offered. I relied on the terms presented to me by the company's representative, and those terms are now being changed after the fact.
Unfortunately, the way this situation has been handled has completely destroyed my trust in Donotage. The product did not work for me, the promised timeline changed repeatedly, and when I finally requested the refund I was promised, I was given a completely different set of conditions.
I will never purchase from this company again. Buyer be aware of poor customer service and not listing all ingredients.
After multiple emails back and forth last week, I have now been forced to get my banking cc institution involved.
Recommendation: Buyer be aware of poor customer service and not listing all ingredients
