Dodd & AssociatesRip off

Hello I am writing this report today hoping to spare future people of the suffering, disappointment, time and money that i have endured with a Dallas, Texas based Credit repair company. The owner/president is Mr. John W. Dodd and supposed credit repair specialist, Terry A Welker was assigned to work on my credit, produced very little results, which i will go into further detail later. When intially reading thier website and talking with the owner at, it was very hyped up and i intially verbally was told i was guaranteed a refund. So this is was something that put it over the top for me as I figured i had nothing to lose, but was i wrong. So i decided to join and give it a shot. And the results were very poor, but this is the least of what this company did.

It violated many Consumer Proctection laws, which has lead me to write this report in efforts of finding a way pursue further action and recoop my losses with this company. First i will start off with the results in which they produced. I had hopes in cleaning up my report. When i first started with this company i had:9 collection items, and 37 inquires, in which i was wanting to have cleaned up. This company had my file for ONE YEAR and after one year, only two collection items were removed. And i was left with 7 collection items, and still 37 inquires on my credit report. At first i thought this company would perform well because the two items that were removed happened in the first month, but 11 months later nothing seemed to be done, and if there was work being done, there was no results.

And i had little to no communication with this company giving me guidance/help or updates along the way to help me better my situation. And when i decided to call and ask for a refund which was supposedly guaranteed. The owner stated i had passed my refund period and i did not qualify for one, which i was not informed of when i first started and signed up, i was simply told it was guaranteed.

Little to say i was not happy with the results or the money i had supplied to them. I tried asking nicely for a refund for about 2 weeks straight and i finally realized that would get me basically nowhere. So i am writing this hoping for more help from somewhere.

After doing research, I came to find out this credit repair company violated the Credit Repair Organiztions Act (CROA) which is part of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). For these reasons i am looking to take further action in order to recover my losses. 1. It is illegal to charge a consumer money before performing any credit repair services and this company charged me a large payment in advance of $680.00 dollars before doing anything at all 2.In addition, failed to inform me that i have the right to cancel my account wtihout penalty.Did not give a cancellation rights notice. 3. Did not present me with a properly constructed credit repair contract, and did not recieve a copy of this contract, since there was not one 4. Did not properly present a disclosure statement, entitled "Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law" If there is anyone out there that is able to give me further assistance in helping me recover my losses and money. Please respond. I will be very greatful and also i hope that by writing this report it will keep others from signing up with this company. There are better credit repair companies out there and better ways to improve your credit than getting involved with this company. Thank for your time and please get in touch if someone can help!!
