I changed to Discovery bank in April 2022 as my life insurance, 2 investments, vitality and home insurance is with them. I than changed all my debit orders to go off from Discovery bank too.

I have been doing wire transfers from my Chase account to Discovery Bank since May 2022.

September 21st, 22, however, I did the wire transfer as per usual (Exact same account number, SWIFT code.) The money reflected in my Discovery account, but was "pending" I called Discovery bank and the banker told me that the money should be cleared in the next 2 days. After 2 days I checked my account and the "pending payment" disappeared.

I called Discovery again and the banker looked with me on the banking app and saw that the money was not in there anymore.

This was escalated, and after several calls to discovery and Chase as well as emails to Discovery and Chase, the "Executive relationship manager" at Discovery Bank told me that the money was sent back to the "sending bank" Standard bank. I responded that I did not pay from Standard bank, but from Chase. Then she replied that Discovery Bank cannot accept wire transaction from another South-African bank. And that Chase should use HSBC London to wire the money. HOW is this possible after they accepted 4 payments from Chase via Standard Bank before, and now all of a sudden they cannot accept it anymore? Also, when you use the SWIFT code Discovery gives you, how can you ensure the paying bank (Chase) will use the HSBC bank that Discovery states we should use? The money is still missing and Discovery is sending me back and forth. I am so disappointed and frustrated to say the least. I have all the documentation and communication from Discovery and Chase, but I do not want to add it on this platform due to the risk of further loosing any money. I can send it on request and further investigations.
