I purchased what I believed was a purebred mini bulldog from this breeder Paulette Valento. On pick up he was pulled from a dirty kennel covered in urine and feces. He was immediately brought to a groomer who informed me he was infested with fleas. He spent the first night with horrible bloody diarrhea. He was brought to my Vet the next day where I learned he was also infested with worms. The worms were so bad it took 6 months to get rid of them, and my other dog also got them. She was informed of this and she just blamed it on some farm cat. I decided she was not going to work with me and let it go. He then needed surgery for cherry eye months later. This dog is now 5 and I recently had a DNA assessment done on him as it has always bugged me what he really was. After seeing how poorly he was cared for by breeder I assume the same negligent care is taken in breeding. Well he is not a purebred at all. His DNA showed his mother is a french bulldog crossed with a mutt, and his father is a bulldog crossed with an italian greyhound. Since my purchase I have noticed the kennel name changing. This is a warning to anyone that thinks they are getting a bulldog through this breeder, they are mutts. Nothing wrong with that at all, but it is wrong to LIE to consumers telling them they are getting a purebred dog when in fact they are getting a very mixed breed dog that looks like a bulldog.

Folks, please be advised that Paulette has been caught (and prosecuted for it) several times for abusing dogs and running puppy mills with the worst kind of conditions.

She has had her entire kennel of puppies confiscated by the ASPCA multiple times due to animal cruelty.

She is not legally allowed to own pets. Every time she is caught and fined, she proceeds to lay low and then eventually start breeding dogs again in abject conditions.

Do NOT purchase a dog from this woman. You are funding cruelty if you do.

Terrible to hear and good to know. I have seen some advertisements from her . I will say though, cherry eye is very common in the bulldog breed... nothing to really complain about.

I had a male stud that was seized from this woman as well (he passed away almost a year ago). When we got him, he was 28 pounds, and his highest weight was about 46. It is hard for me to even type out what terrible shape my dog was in when we got him from the Humane Society.

I never would have known that Paulette Valento was the culprit that had mistreated an animal so severely, until my parents who loved my dog started a search for their own. My mother sent me a link to her website (at the time, Deziner Miniature Bulldogs) and I saw a photo of my dog listed as one they were breeding.

While my dog, Bubba, lived an incredibly great life while he was with us, his heath was uncommonly poor. To know that she was breeding from a dog that was so unhealthy is a really huge warning sign. Bubba had two surgeries before he came into my home, and had massive food allergies and a disease called Protein Losing Entropathy. God forbid that disease gets passed along through the bloodlines she created, because not only was it outrageously expensive to deal with, but it was heartbreaking. For the last three years of his life, Bubba had to eat food we made, because his sensitive systems could not handle even prescription dog food.

I can't tell you how angry it makes me that this woman is still in business, and even worse that she still features pictures of my dog on her website. A dog that was taken away from her for her cruelty. It says right on her website that these dogs don't even go outside until they are adopted. Unfortunately for the dogs, this was true with Bubba - except he was close to 4 when he was rescued.

I actually have a breeding female that was seized from this woman. She was in horrible shape and it took years to get her healthy again. This woman is not legally allowed to breed dogs - if you want proof, talk to officer Keith Streff with the AHS. The legal records are out there if you know where to look, animal cruelty seizures in her name. Buyer beware!

I'd have to agree with Jon. Minibullys are not recognized by AKC...so most likely they wont be purebred.

My cousin purchased his Minibully from Paulette about 3 years go, and I purchased mine from her about a year ago. We both found her very helpful and answered all of our questions. She was always happy to send us copies of any documents we requested. Granted that we live in California, so we were unable to actually visit the Breeder before making our purchase. When I received my bully, he had a small case of worms that quickly went away in a about a week or 2. But other than that, my cousin and I have had no problems whatsoever with the bullies we purchased from her. They are both very healthy, happy, and surprisingly ENERGETIC.

Sorry to hear about the problems you had with her. Im just dropping in my 2 cents with my experiences with her.
