On the 22nd February 2022 I was diagnosed with a Malignant Melanoma on my left foot and the cancer had spread to my Lymph node in my groin. Both were cut out. My work terminated me as Illness Benefit as they were not going to pay me if I could not work. On the 31st March 2022 I lodged an Illness Claim through the UIF Ufiling portal and emailed documents that were needed.

On the 4th May 2022 my Status on the Ufiling portal was "Sent to Assessor"

I have been phoning the call center everyday to see how far my claim was. All the consultants said it was with the Assessor and he is working on the file. Big backlog so wait.

On the 24th August 2022 my ufiling status said "Not Approved /Rejected. No reason and once again Consultants cant say why. One of them said Reapply, the other said no dont do that the Assessor made a mistake.? I am desperate for this money as I have Lymphedema in my leg and need therapy and special compression bandages. I have no Income. Please help. I cant walk and cannot stand in the queue at UIF for 5 hours to be attended to.

Desired outcome: Find out why my claim is rejected. I have been paying UIF for over 20 years. I desperately need money for my treatment so I can go back to work
