DebtorBoards.com review: Terrible company
This is alleged to be a credit help site, yet there are only a few posters. They hide their who there admins and mods are by using numbers to identify them. They allow one poster named Rottweiler to post quotes of law which she has changed to meet her needs. If corrected she rants and tries to belittle the person that corrects her. Any one who points this out to the owner of the board is banned.
They have post by admins in which they use a screen name then answer their selves using their admin number.

How do you know this for a fact? They are trying to help the consumer without having to get a lawyer.
Some folks are just SO darn bitter... Smile, enjoy the sun and quit living your life on the internet. Debtorboards is a place where the consumer can come and feel that they have a fighting chance against collection agencies and junk debt buyers. The folks who have been banned in the past were simply nothing more than trouble makers, this has been proven time and time again with posts like these across the net... What kind of person after being "banned" from a site for constant jabs at other users goes around 1-2 years later still "crying" over it...
The above complaint is not even a legitimate post. This is obviously from a credit agency that has most likely been (successfully) sued by a Debtorboards.com member. The English stinks and was probably from one of the collector's "offshore" telephone harassers. Don't believe a word of it. This company (Debtorboards) does exactly what what it professes to do - educate the naive public about their rights.
Interesting. I'm wondering if the person who posted this complaint might actually be a disgruntled debt collector trying to smear these guys. I asked direct questions and received simple, direct answers. I verified the points of authority, etc., and found them to be accurate. I was more than satisfied.

HSBC REP-CALLERS WOULD NOT TALK/IDENTIFY THEMSELVES -
I don't have a comment but, a question... I had a caller calling me a few weeks back, calling twice an hour, for two weeks, from approx. 5:00pm until just before 9:00pm. This drove me absolutley bonkers. I tried tracing the phone number, I called the telephone company because, I didn't know who or what was calling me because, no one would ever say anything, they would just hang up after a few seconds from the phone being answered. We me at my wits end, my family started a log and writing down the dates and times and finally we got a break on who was calling us. Going on week two, my wife answered the phone and the call started as usual with no one talking but, just then, my wife asked who was calling us and somone on the other end finally identified themselves as a HSBC rep., which did confirm that they were the ones calling us for the past two weeks and this was all over $76.00. Needless to say, I did email them a not so nice email to tell them to stop calling us because, the rep. who talked to my wife, told her the only way they would stop calling is if we write them a letter. Sorry, not going to happen. I put in my email to them, that this was my official means to stop calling my phone number or if they do, to identify themselves because, we had no idea who was calling us. To sum it up, that weekend, since I get paid bi-weekly, I made a trip to the branch and paid this amount. Is there anything I could or should do furhter because, this tactic they used was totally unnecessary and uncalled for. Plus, it totally upset the household and made our friends and family wonder why we were so heated, when we would answer the phone, when they tried calling us.
I believe the complaints are posted by collection companies as a way to try to dissuade us from looking any further for help. They are truly fearful of this information provided by debetorboards.
Well, seems the site was brought down. I'm interested as I'm getting calls from collection agencies for a medical bill that was paid for 2 years. When I ask for a copy of the bill as proof that I owe the debt I get nothing. They just advise me that my credit report will be tarnished until I pay.
Nice tactics.
Debtorboards.com is attacked regularly. The administrators normally shut down the servers until the attack appears to have dissipated, then cautiously return to being on line. The shutdown assures that there is no damage to or compromise of the board's data.
