Sub: Condemn report telecasted on Indian TV regarding H.H. Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS)

The 9:00 PM show on the 6th of April on India TV telecasted the information and report on the re-marriage of Taliban terrorist Baitullah in Waziristan, Afghanistan .
In between this report, pictures of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) performing his nikah had been inserted amid constant background talk on terrorism. In what regards do you think His Holiness is connected with the terrorists? Do you even have an inkling of who you are talking about?
His Holiness is amongst the only four persons in the world who are awarded with the address of “His Holiness” including the Dalai Lama and the Christian Pope. And His Holiness is also awarded with the title of “Ambassador of Peace” by many major nations of the world.
This is an utter lack of knowledge, information and professional journalism from India TV’s part. If India TV is not aware of such a unique personality, then it is not our fault. India TV is a news channel and it ought to know better. This is certainly not the ethics of journalism way? Or is it?
India TV is now apologizing for the grave error they have committed. But merely a statement on the bottom of the screen with the word “afsos” won’t do. India TV has to take up the responsibility of this severe mistake and this includes all stakeholders of India TV including their chief editor and journalist.
We, the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim Community, demand a full fledge from the concerned reporter and the chief editor of India TV. We demand the apology of your misconduct to be telecast as long and as repeatedly as the error and on the same show and at the same time (prime time), which should grasp the same audience which watched on the evening of 6th April.
We also demand necessary actions to be taken against the reporter for such a grave mistake.
Although the damage has been done, we think this is the only way the reputation of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) can be mended (albeit only partially).
We sincerely hope that you understand that we are hurt to the depth of our soul and this letter is been written from a crying heart. This is a matter of great insult to our beloved Maula (TUS) and to the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim Community as a whole.

We live in a world where we are thought 2 good words by the English i.e. Thank You & Sorry. This does not excuse India TV reporter / reporters to go ahead and publish any report without having checked the truth of the matter. How can a Channel of this caliber carry out such report. This shows the lacuna of the people working at India TV. I can only say this that our His Holiness is the symbol of peace and love and knowledge. At present his health is not well and by your such performance you have knowingly or unknowingly hurt him and his followers deeply. And you should take up this matter seriously and come on Air and on TV and apologize the hideous crime committed by you & your channel and this apology should not only be to our His Holiness but also to the whole Dowoodi Bohra Community whom you have hurt deeply. In the end once again I can only say this, May Allah help the person / persons who have committed such a crime, Even if he is pardoned he will not be at peace for the rest of his life.
This is one of the examples of our Today’s Life where we don’t bother to care whom we hurt and how deeply we hurt, even after being a responsible channel.

As the earlier comments tell, it was not at all an ethical and a very professional act from India t.v's behalf to show in public any news which is so aggressive and would certainly hurt the sentiments of a whole community by a news which is totally absurd and unverified.
I would also want the channel to truthful either report the entire matter in this issue or to send an apology enough to satisfy the community's people.
This shows the lack of responsibility of the makers and promoters of India TV. For the heck of getting more viewers these people have forgotten their basics of journalism... I seriously doubt the authenticity of any news published by India TV...

it is heartbreaking for all of the dawoodi bohra community as this clipping of a dawoodi bohra nikah being aired as a taliban act and that too our beloved aqa burhanuddin has being targetted by the channel which is obnoxious and i strongly condemn the act and would like the govt of india to take action into this matter as a high profiled soritual man of great honour for the country and a great citizen of the country has been targetted by the channel of india tv which itself has no credit of journalism.
i think the channel has to be banned as it is only airing the worst of the programmes and misgiuding the youth and the people of india.
i hope this horific act of the channel will alarm the ministry of broadcasting and we will surely see some strong steps taken against the channel.

For that matter any news that hits the tv needs to be thoroughly researched and should have cent percent proofs to be authentic, in this case the flaw is nothing but to create sensationalism.
People watching news channels have conviction in their research which should not be played with.

This channel should be banned and then they will understand.
