The dogs they have for breeding carry the genetic DNA for degenerative myelopathy. The dog we pruchased has tested positive and is currently suffering from this disease. It is spread by parents who have the gene, A blood test proved the condition and the test was taken at Rhinebeck Animal Hospital. There is no other way the dog can contract this disease not by any form of action by the owner. I say this because the ay we brought this dog home he was sick - after 6 months of searching and testing with various reputable DVMs it was finally diagnosed as giardia. This is spread via water contamination and is not brought on immediately. THere was no way to have contracted that disease with us so quickly and it would mean our other 2 dogs would have had the condition also. This breeder does not admit to any such problems and continues to breed. It is shameful. I just want people who are considering this breeder to stay away unless they want the heart aches.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
i got my german shepherd from there back in 2012, worst decision ever, not only did the dog have anxiety issues, potty training issues, it was afraid of its own shadow, all bc they kennel raised it instead of family raising it , wrong move . my other shepard was family raised best shepherd ever, and they were only 2 months apart but from 2 seperate breeders , so i can definitely see the difference.
the dog has been alive for 11 years dealing with lupus, anxiety cant take it around other dogs or it gets attacked , even her own sister who was a decent shepard, not from there , attacked her at a petsmart bc of her nervous energy and no amount of training has fixed this dog . we have been doing our best for all these years, but i wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone ever .
