D'Amico Termite and Pest Control, Inc. is located in Manasquan, NJ, and is run by James D'Amico. They have other locations listed (Wall, Ocean, Manasquan, and Brick, to name a few), but Manasquan is the latest location of the "operation". They don't just do termite and pest control. They do crawl space clean out, vapor barrier installation, and install crawl space / foundation vents. The problem is, they don't do it very well.
Unfortunately, in the process of doing the installation work, they damaged the sides of my house. The repairs they did to make up for this caused even more damage! The crawl space door they fabricated cracked along the plies soon after they finished the job... and now, lo and behold, they do not respond to letters, phone calls, or faxes requesting that they return and fix everything.
They were supposed to paint the crawl space door and frame, and cement around it. it only got partially painted, and the cement job was marginal. They initially underestimated the cost for the work. The bill went up after it was done. He promised on-site supervision of his workers. Too bad he didn't show up as often as he needed to.
I'm not the only one who has a beef with this company- check out the BBB web site for NJ under Damico or D'Amico, and you will see that he did substandard work for other people around my area, too-- and refuses to respond to customer calls and to BBB calls.
I too have submitted my concerns to the BBB in the hopes that they can get him off his ###, but I'm not holding my breath. Save yourself some frustration- steer clear of D'Amico Termite and Pest Control. I trusted the guy, and walked away disappointed.
Use some other company- get what you expect, deserve, and pay for.
I think Mr. D'Amico has been very honest and has a great ability to be sincere and give a detailed information as to what is needed and what is to be expected after the work is completed. Now he did advise that there would be additional work to be done on my crawlspace that I will do in the near future but in comparison to others (and I did shop around) I found that he was more geared towards making me aware of the health conditions that would arise if I continued to ignore the state of my crawlspace and he wasn't pushy at all. Quite the opposite. I am very pleased with all the work that has been done by him and his men. Everyone is very pleasant and very professional. And just to give you a scope of what I had done; I had my crawlspace cleaned out, automatice vents installed, mold removed, and even a crawlspace door customized to fit the opening of my crawlspace! . . Now I really don't know how many companys would do anything like that. I will definitely be using him again to have my crawlspace insulated. I am very shocked that anyone could have something negative to say in comparison to my experience with him and his company but I think it would be best to offer him the opportunity to make amends instead of bashing him like this on the internet. Thank you D'Amico & Termite Pest Control! I hope these horridous remarks don't affect him too much b/c he really is a nice man and does great work.
I absolutely disagree!. . . D'Amico Termite & Pest Control run by James D'Amico himself has done a phenomonal job with my home and others in my neighborhood. He is a clear and articulate speaker and is very good at providing the necessary information needed to establish a true value to his work. I have dealt with him for many years and have never found his work/the work of his men to be substandard. And if there was any issues or even slight, he was always available to remedy or compensate. He and his workers provide good showmanship and a true value for they work perform.
If the previous complaint was in regards to another D'Amico Termite & Pest Control Co., from which there are more than one, than they should be careful of the slander they are willing to impose on someone who does not deserve it. Especially in this economy were businesses all around are struggling. I cannot say nicer things about this man, James D'Amico, and the business from which he runs under but to say that this is a good person and that I have had many dealings with and has always offered excellent services from beginning to end!
This is a true con artist who preyed upon my elderly mother. He said she needed so much work in her crawl space. He charged her 1000 dollars and later, an insurance agent came to our home, and he said the work done was sub standard.
This guy is a fast talker, he will try to talk you into anything from crawl space work, to termite control. Steer clear of him. He is not to be trusted.
