Cutco productJob representation

This so called company is luring so many young adults, preying them on the so called job openings. They conduct job interviews on late evening until the night. They have all these applicants go to job training & seminars for over two hours.Telling these kids that they are hired . When in fact, what they want them to do is to represent their cutco products. Their manager is Danny Guerrido, who tells the applicants that they will be making big chunks of money if they join their exciting, relaxed approach in showing their products.

This company have the applicants fill up an application that includes a very important information- their SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.
Please investigate this company for this misrepresentations & misleading these young adults. I just hope that these kids parents are aware of what is going on. I for one, just happened to be thinking & look at their website. There are so many red flags regarding their operation.

Please, please someone needs to investigate this company.

Hahahaha!!! [censor] is what this company is. First the so called manager looked like he could take off at any minute cuz his office only had a table and some chairs. His motivational talk was so scripted, I couldnt even tell when he was trying to make a joke cuz he was so monotone. He talked about all this money that he was making but when i saw him leaving his car was a piece of [censor], I had a nicer car than him and im not even making as much as he said he was. Im not lazy and im also not stupid. So I never went back, and im happy not making that 50k [censor] hahahaha that guy is just a joke and so are all you cutco pushers.

Success is a choice and Cutco is just like life in general "Only the strong survive" --- People love to blame the economy, company, managers, family, government, for their lack of success. Cutco is a great opportunity and is referred by many colleges around the US. Anybody that cant hack it is simply LAZY or fears people.

It was in the WALL STREET JOURNAL for being one of the top jobs in the US. Here is the amazing thing in my eyes.

The same reason people quit is the same reason its the top job in America for College students...Its Challenging but wow are the rewards outstanding.

I worked for them for all of 2months Sounds great and all BUT
1st downfall you must pay for the knives up front
    unpaid training for 2wks
    unpaid 2-3hrs meetings 3 times a wk
using up gas to drive across towns-unpaid if sale is not made and if they dont fit into their 3M's program
vector is NOT gonna be my life. iF you work with them be prepared to have ZERO life outside of vector and cutco. SMH!

In past, the company admitted to fraud in settlements with the Australian Consumer and Competition Commission (1999), Wisconsin Consumer Protection Dept (1994), and Arizona Attorney General (1992). In 1992, 940 Wisconsin Vector Marketing recruits were surveyed and the survey found nearly half of the recruits earned no pay or lost money while working for Vector.

Recently the co-founder of SAVE (Students Against Vector Exploitation) a group formed by students to fight the Vector Marketing scam, won a case with the New York Department of Labor, proving that Vector violated the independent contractor- client relationship, making her an employee. This breach of contract required Vector to compensate for her training.

I have an interview on monday with vector i recieved a letter in the mail I have been in several sucessful and not so sucessful home businesses I am currently a stay home mom attending online classes. I would like to say to the person who posted this! Millionaires take risks. Nobody gets rich without takin the risk. Perhaps you are sheltering your child or whoever you are trying to protect and you think you are protecting them but you have to let them find out for theirself. Plus I would not take your recommendation serously considering you havent been in the company so how could you kow? I cannot yet say if this company is legit but i am confident in my bs detector! I know that there are scams out there but so far I do not feel that this company seems to have any traits of those scams which yes I have been caught in several pyramid scams and work from home businesses. But I would like to say that thus far I have not been told I need to purchase or pay a deposit does anyone know the exact amount I will need so I can prepare for it! You have to spend money to make money!

This complaint is just rediculous. I recently started working for vector. You do have to spend $147.00 to receive the sample kit, but it is a DEPOSIT, I can get that money back whenever I want. But just two of the seven knives in this sample kit cost over $150, so its like getting the other 5 for free.
For $26.50 I am going to get a flatware set that normally costs just over $100.
For $22.50 I'm going to get another flatware set worth about $100.
For $96.00 I will receive 5 more knives, together with the original $150 sample kit it makes the homemaker set, worth $772.00
And for $150.00 I will get a set of 5 specialty knives. One of these five is a meat cleaver. The cleaver alone is worth $160.00

So you can think what you want, but for less than $500 I am going to own well over $1, 000 in cutco products.
Not to mention it only takes 8 appointments to make back that $147.00, and who the hell doesn't know 8 people they could show the knives to?

In all I will spend $443, it would only take 24 appointments to make that money back. The only requirements are that each person has a job and is at least 25 years old.

Ahh Boombastic, your response is hysterical! I like how you cited the marketwire website; they do nothing but distribute press releases, they are not a ny sort of peer reviewed or respected source. It's would be like you as a Cutco employee tweeting about how great your workplace is, that's about what it equiviates too.

My roomeate went to one of those "sessions" at Ohio state and was told that he would have to pony up $100's in a deposit for a display set (they were going to give him a break since he was going to be a rep); and then asked for phone numbers and addresses.

Your list of notable people there is also hilarious. Motivational speaking is not a true reputable profession, it's just barely a step above false advertising to recruit 18 & 19 year olds who don't know any better into a scam. Have any of your super elite employees actually held real jobs, started/run their own companies? I betting no, unlkess it involves blowing sunshine up people's [censor], i.e. motivational speaking.

If Cutco is such a great place, why didn't they stick with the company? You better hurryand quit, then get into the motivational speaking business before the field is oversaturated with excutco employees.

This is such a [censor] post. I have been working for the company for 4 years. I pay for school because of Vector. This is one of those people that can't face challenges, and are blinded to opportunities. She obviously has zero experience with Vector. What make me laugh is a person who has never worked at vector is judging a Company that is responsible for the majority of Entrepreneurs and millionaires of our country. Don't believe me? Multi Millionaire Zig Ziglar worked for Cutco. Jon Berghoff is in his 30s and he started with cutco at 19. He is now a millionaire. Hal Elrod, Carl Drew, Jon Vroman, and so many more. Just look up these names and you will know what is going on.All these kids started with Vector and are still working with Vector while owning several other companies. Vector is not a scam. I make about 700 bux a week working 15 hours. I have earned college credit just for working there. Do you think Universities will give you free college credit if it was a scam? REALLY??? There are 12 Universities around North America that requires students to work for Vector/Cutco or else they will not graduate. That 2 hour interview she is talking about is a powerful/award winning interview program. But just
to give you a clue just read the article below.

I am just sad that a person in your family had the opportunity but your limited beliefs, your fears, your negativity robbed that person a fortune. I bet your life is not what you wanted. You are probably making 40 to 70 k a year just living a mediocre life. Thats a [censor] life when you have no freedom. You didnt even give the company a chance to show you what its like.

You misunderstood my post. I didn't have anybody working "for" me - I just sold the knives. That's it. $50k/year from just selling the knives. Did it for 17 years full-time; still work there part time because my customers love me and won't let me quit.

Yuck yuck...Yup! Join the Cutco cult so that the people making 50K per year can pimp other peoples vulnerable college aged children out so you can make that 50K per year. You don't see these kids making that much-ONLY YOU danindixie. Learning good skills is bunk! You can learn good skills elsewhere without having to lower your standards. Your selling techniques are shameful-needless to say I had the audacity to say NO! to your pushy demos.

Too funny. I went to a job interview with them in 1988, and worked with them for the next 17 years - supported my family on it, $50K/year on 20 hours of work each week. Yup, don't let your kids sign up unless you want them to make money and learn some good skills. They interview all day every day, not just in the evening. I've been trying to convince them to leave the SSN off the application, since it's not necessary until/unless the applicant starts work.
