On November, 2020, our family started out to accomplish one thing: build our dream house. Estimated final completion ‘to be safe; May 2021.’ It is now April 2022, and since this got started, we have spent many sleepless nights constantly reviewing the overpromised and underdelivered reality of a nightmare situation. We have been put off, lied to, disrespected and (most disappointingly) stripped of any possible reconciliation of reaching our goal of completing that dream home.
He has used unlicensed subs on our home, and lied to us about having ANY inspections done …strung us along for 3 weeks acting like he was trying to gain access to them, KNOWING they weren’t done in the first place and putting it off on the inspector that it ‘was the inspector’s fault.’ (Spring 2021)
We live in a camper, on our property, and no one has worked since November 2021. In our eyes, this builder has walked away from the build of our home with no intent to finish. We have paid him for items, such as our appliances, some lighting, and backsplash, as well as projects we’ve paid for, yet not received or not finished…much of which has been ‘finished’ will need to be redone.
We have had mold in our cabinets and base boards, these of which WERE replaced, but there was no cleaning done and now mold in other areas of the house, and openings in the roofing allowing the outside elements in, with no concern to address this.
We have seen home after home going up around us, and yet we sit…and sit…. and wait…Hoping that he’d come thru. He would say that WE stopped HIM from working on our home. We never did this…only questioned some of the work. Actually, they DID show up and work in November 2021 after we called him out on not having the inspections done … All we did was questioned some of the work, later to find out that there were no inspections done…. He told us that, “we don’t get to dictate how he build’s our house.” In case there was a question, we sent him a certified letter with what we expected from, just to be very clear…he signed for this 12.21.21, right after his release from jail, and just completely ignored it. Our requests have NEVER changed since that letter was written and received. Basically, get the sheetrock down, so inspections be performed, and start on the list of corrections provided by the inspector (of what he could see…. after WE called for inspections) in July 2021.
I cannot even begin to describe what this man has stolen from us. How do you put a value on dreams that have been shattered? Our whole experience in building a home has been tainted, by no other than this builder. We are forever scarred by this experience. We’ve had plans for birthdays… (going on 2 children with 2 years of birthdays we are not going to get to celebrate at our dream home) not to mention the other holidays and celebrations that have passed.
A person’s integrity says a great deal about who they are and who they will become in this world. I pray my gut is wrong on him. We are firm believers that your actions (or lack thereof) speak louder than any words you can speak. We take this time to wish this company the same success that this project has bestowed upon our family.
