Dear Coparts,

We have been in communication regarding a storage / collection dispute for a 2021 Puma caravan.

It has got to the point where the inconvenience and financial repercussions are significantly more than minor and we are looking at how to proceed with further action - preferably there is an amicable dispute resolution and we can move on with a satisfactory business relationship.

The large caravan unit was purchased late 2021 and we are still paying storage on it, this is only due to a collection issue at your yard.

For our company (Southern Industrial Imports NZ) it means we have missed our seasonal market, the exchange rate has increased our costs, shipping has escalated and we have investment in stock we can not access.

Our company has recently started branching into USA and this is our first purchase through your company - we would like to continue using you but do need to both resolve this issue and have a better path forward.

We are working with Global Extreme in New Zealand and Freight Plus in USA,

Both of them are not happy at all with the service you have provided and are in support of a resolution and better processes to proceed with.

While I understand that there is some fine print at your end covering collection of large trailer units and the necessary equipment the transport operator is to provide it was not acceptable to keep Freight Plus waiting in line for 2 days after having driven significant distance to get there and then send him home without the unit. This was Mid January.

Freight Plus assured us that this is not the usual protocol - and that your company had the necessary loading equipment parked right there and refused to use it.

There is many ways this could have proceeded more easily - if your company had a different to industry standard protocol for loading and collecting procedure then it would be professional to inform the collecting agent, if you had to use a loader at your expense then that would have been fine - we would have paid for your driver to load if that was preferred.

At this point to have a simple resolution we are prepared to accept our seasonal loss, and our freight increase cost but are asking you to cover the second trip for collection that Freight Plus has to do and to refund the storage from mid January until now, do you feel this is a fair and acceptable compromise?

Kind regard

John Bentham
