www.freescore360.com (along with www.creditreport.com) is advertising very convincing looking jobs on craigslist. If you apply for the job you get an email response asking you to submit to a credit report using only their website. A quick search of these sites shows that they ask for your credit card details and then charge you monthly without your consent.
In other words, the job postings are fake. There are no jobs waiting, just these websites waiting to steal your money.

This is what i got today...

You recently sent us an email application via our hiring posting on Craigslist. We're happy to inform you that after reading through your application, we want to bring you in for a meeting and discuss the position in-depth. This will be a group session, with our hiring manager present, and four other candidates.

First, we ask that you verify the information you sent via your application by obtaining a credit report. This is in keeping with our company policy and standard procedure for any new hires we make. Be advised that a bad credit history does NOT hurt your chances for the position, and is simply to protect the company against possible issues in the future.

Click here to receive your report. Once this step of the process has been completed, email us immediately. We are looking to get started in the next week or so, and it is imperative we move forward as quickly as possible. Please, DO NOT include any sensitive information in any emails. Please perform this step quickly, as we would like to fill the position very soon. Once you're finished, we will verify with the company that you have completed this step, so that I or Mr. Grandel, our administrator, can get back to you to set up a meeting.

We appreciate your interest in our company and we look forward to seeing you soon,

---------

I agree this is definitely some form of scam. I did not apply for a job however I was recently on Craigslist apartment hunting and several individuals are requesting consumers go to freescore360.com and pull a copy of their credit report. I knew this was a scam from the start, I guess people will do anything for a quick buck.

Thank you very much for this information! After applying for a job I received a reply right the next day (Saturday). And I might have neglected the timing, since I don't know if their HR is working overtime, but they directed me to this website to check my credit score. I read at the site that they're crediting my card after 30 days unless I call them, so I was about to do it. But something stopped me and I googled the company first! I was shocked and so relieved to find out that it's a scam! Thanks to Google and websites like yours!

I applied for a job posted on craigslist and received a reply from the "Human Resources" department today, a Sunday, which was the first red flag. The second red flag was that they used the name from my e-mail address rather than the name on my résumé. The name of the company is supposedly grp-management. They actually have a semi-legitimate looking website. When I read the e-mail they stated in order to get the job I had to provide my credit score. I googled the website "freescore360.com" and was sent here.

It's so sad that craigslist is so clogged with fake job offers, fake apartments and fake items for sale. Don't fall for this SCAM!

Thank you for posting this! I had a bad feeling about this from the start. I thought it was suspicious that I could find no information about the location of this supposedly local company (JJ Stoneworks) on their website or online. Also, I noticed they were advertising jobs on sites in other cities & other states, yet they do not appear to be a national chain. But against my intuition, I applied anyway.
And then I received an e-mail response today from their HR representative that did not have any formal greeting ("Dear So-and-So") but rather a casual yet generic "How are you Jane Doe?" Being addressed by both first and last name was a sign to me that the e-mail might be computer-generated. Another HUGE red flag: a mention that only 16 applicants applied for this job (Really? In an area with an unemployment rate of more than 12%, only 16 people applied for a job that supposedly pays $120 for a 4-hour day? Really!) However, the final nail in the coffin was that link to the freescore360 website and an insistance that I use it to obtain my own credit score. For the record, most companies nowadays require a credit check, so this in & of itself is not out of the ordinary. But legitimate companies will have you check a little box on their application that will authorize them to initiate their own credit check during their hiring process.

FYI: the initial job ad was titled "Customer service" and stated: "Person needed must be able to talk on phone and help people with problems. Will train. Very relaxed informal atmosphere. $120 or more possible for working 4 hours morning or evening." That should have been another clue: $30+/hr. for answering phones? I apparently overlooked that part in my haste to visit their website. Had I done the math, I wouldn't have wasted my time on such an obvious scam.
