I had to put in my comments here. I had the occasion to consign with the owner and so called designer Glenda Lugay selling my jewellery and as soon as she received my samples, every phone call was curt at best and incoherent screaming and a blistering headache (mine) at worst. In the end, she simply refused to return my designs and I had to write off a loss. I searched the web and I have come across similar comments against her. I also contacted another designer she "sells" and the feedback was the same. So, I hope that any future clients, media and/or designers will see this and avoid her store at all costs! She is a disgrace to the fashion community.

Wow, I can't believe a store would do this! I have been to Tres Jolie before and would never have guessed. Her stuff was kind of cheap looking with lots of beaded jewellery anyhow. But after hearing this, I would definitely not shop there!

It must be awful that all 2 of you had a terrible experience with the owner of Tres Jolie, and not to mention other business she runs (alone) while designing for magazines and movies as well. I wonder if the thousands of other people she deals with on a day to day basis have had the same experience as well. I guess the two of you should get together and boycott outside her store. That would be funny to watch. One question. Why havent either one of you thought about going down to the store personally and taken care of this situation? And if you dont live in the area why not send someone?

This Bald headed mother###ing ### is a scam im from Africa and 8 months ago she told me she was going to help me get a visa to the US i had to pay her $5000 US because she said her lawyer had to process everything and will be a one time try meaning i will be granted right away .. After paying all this money she told me all her money in her bank account was stolen and that she even had to give out her expensive bags and jewelery to help me ..Whenever i ask her about the VISA or the money she gets angry and start talking nonsense but i have told her whenever i come to the STATES she should expect me knocking at her door ..

This person makes a great first impression, but watch out! Extremely negative, manipulative, and toxic. I was so disappointed with her and told her that she was not at all like the person I initially met.

It sounds like it's been much worse for the jewelry designers than it's been for Ms. Lugay's customers. I was worried that by putting an update to my problem with her (I never received a refund or another piece as an exchange) that I'd end up with another long phone call insinuating what a bad person I was and how no one has been through what she's been through, etc. I can't pull up her site, anymore. I hope this means that she's decided that selling on the web only spread news of her unprofessional behavior.

wow! i cant believe all of the things i've heard here. even though i was conned by this woman myself majorly! i gave her lots of my one of a kind pieces on consignment and she never returned anything. kept saying she wanted more from me so she could give it to to Tyra Banks to wear on top model. she never paid me a dime for anything, and was really rude to me when i questioned her. i haddnt worked with enough stores to realize right away that this was a con woman. i was actually one of the designers she had for sale on her website, and the thing is i made only one of everything-but what i saw was an order form with size and quantity listed. i wondered is she was reproducing my jewelry somehow behind my back. i as considering ordering a piece just to see what would happen, but before i got the chance they had been taken off the site. the wost thing that she did was request money for PR for me to give her 300 dollars to have a piece featured in a prominant LA add. well she got my money and i got nothing. when i repeaedly asked her when the magazine would come out she would yell at he and say how things take time and i dont know anything about the industry.. finally she did put my piece in a different magaizine-surprisingly. i could go on and on about this woman but i think you get the point.

So glad I'm not the only one to have a bad experience with this person. As I stated on my original complaint here, as a buyer from Glenda Lugay's website, I like giving my business to small shop owners. She's been the only really bad experience I've ever had. I see that the complaints regarding Ms. Lugay date back to over 1 year just on this site alone. Maybe a $75 loss was pretty small next to what others have had.

It's been over one year since I last had any contact with Glenda. After an excruciating phone call where she gave me a rundown on the problems in her life that no one else could possibly have experienced, she stated that she would refund my money -- all $75 of it. Well, it's been over a year now and NO refund was ever received. It's been over 2 years since the initial purchase.

Maybe Glenda's 'friend' who suggested that customers come into the store to straighten things out (yeah, right! I live across the country and this was in Internet purchase) will have some more helpful advice.

How does this woman stay in business?

I too, had the HELLISH MISFORTUNE of dealing with this raving psychotic. At our initial meeting when I started consignment, she was civil, promising me she would display my jewelry, submit my pieces for press, etc. I left her a TON of merchandise, none of which were ever put on display, because of course she was pregnant and because she had other personal issues to deal with. Yes, being pregnant does take a lot out of a woman, but please, you can't use that excuse forever! EVERY TIME I called her to ask to get paid, she would cut me off, claim she had a customer in the store, or my personal favorite, she would rudely tell me "I'm way too busy with my day and don't have time to deal with designers like you." WTF? what do you mean designers l"ike me?" Ohhh I'm sorry, do you mean designers who work, and would actually like to get PAID for their work?!?!?! To this day, I have not been paid by this deceitful woman. She is a pathetic excuse for a businesswoman and a sorry waste of space. New designers beware: please learn from my mistake and the mistakes made by other designers, do NOT do business with her. I'm hoping that with enough of us posting true feedback about her, she will eventually go out of business.

I have had the same issues with consigning my jewelry pieces through Glenda Lugay's shop! She was ever so nice when she introduced herself and then every phone call after submitting my jewelry was completely psychotic. She was rude to me and my husband as well as yelling at her employees while I was on the phone with her... a total nightmare!

It took me two years of phone calls and email to get my jewelry returned to me. When she finally did return the pieces, a bunch were missing. I can only assume that she sold them. I submitted a bill and she refused to pay. This went on for quite some time until I finally turned it over to a collection agency. They gave up on trying to collect from her because she was so crazy! They said that in 20 years of businesses, they have never dealt with someone like her. In checking her financial background, they were able to see that she had close to $100, 000 in overdue debt and a long list of past collections.

I am not surprised that one of the other commenters below had trouble getting something ordered on her website because my jewelry was one of the main ones featured on her website even after over a year of no longer doing business with her. I had to fight to get my work taken down from the website.

Young designers, do not place your work with her! Clients, she is not worth doing business with and should not be supported. Also, be ware that she has now started a PR firm... I have a dozen stories of why you should not do PR with her but I don't want to waste any more of my time thinking about this horrible woman.

Are you serious? I can't speak for the other complaint but I live in Florida. How many phone calls and emails do you think it's supposed to take? I notice you don't even have the courage to sign your name. This helps to explain the phone call I just received from Ms. Lugay. I assume that you are either someone very close to her or you are Ms. Lugay. With all of the happy customers she has had, I doubt that 2 people who encountered problems are going to ruin her.

I have a complaint from the other side regarding Tres Jolie. My husband purchased a ring from their website for last Valentine's Day. The ring did not fit so I returned it for an exchange. That was only the beginning of my journey. The return was acknowledged with a phone message. I waited several weeks but no replacement arrived. I contacted Glenda directly by phone and she stated that the maker of the ring now lived in London and she would have to email her. (She said that she was surprised that I had not received the replacement ring.)

Almost 1 year later after many phone calls and countless emails (which I have kept), I still do not have any type of replacement. Glenda claimed that she was no longer doing business with that designer and said that she was removing the ring from the website. Surprise! The ring is still listed. We had agreed that I would choose something else from the website for about the same price ($75). I selected different items but it seemed that none of them were 'in stock' despite being listed on the website. I finally asked that she either refund my money or ship one of 3 pairs of earrings that I selected.

Needless to say, she has my money and I have nothing to show for it. She's told me so many times that an item was shipped to me that it's a joke. Before Christmas she said that she shipped an item with an extra little 'present' in the box for me. Of course, nothing has arrived and when I last emailed her a few weeks ago, I have received no reply.

I was go glad to come across your complaint. I knew I couldn't be the only person to have had problems dealing with this woman. She's completely unprofessional and irresponsible.
