Clients are left unsupervised leading anywhere from clients sneaking off the facility to get high, bringing drugs back to other clients to get high, sneaking into each others rooms to have sex.
- initial baggage checks are done in a sloppy and random order. Many clients are coming into the facility with drugs on them and sharing with the rest of the population.
Making it a very toxic community for those who actually want to get clean.
-in the whole facility there is only one licensed clinician. The rest are either still in their masters program or are state registered interns. They are unsupervised, running group, doing individuals and notes. There is no leadership and the behavioral health techs (which is a minimum of one year sobriety and GED) are running all of the groups. This is exploiting them. The clients are lucky if they see a therapist their second week there. I truly beige if you treat people with dignity and respect they will start believing in themselves. Watch out for the adolescents who daily sneak their meds right out from under the nurse and snort them up in their rooms.
-consequences? There are none. Noone is discharged from using. The question is always, "what do his benefits cover" let's keep them if we are getting full price! Nice treatment

When a patent is most vulnerable you expect the rehabilitaion center to offer the highest level of care and service. This is not the case at Palm Beach Institute. There is no personalized care, and a complete lack of communication to the family. The unprofessionalism creates frustration and concern for the family. AVOID

As the spouse of a recent patient there, I was skeptical of the stories I was hearing...do you believe what the addict says? But after the non-professional manner in which our case was handled, I started doing a lil research of my own and am glad to see that I am not the only one!
