I purchased a female red dachshund from Tasso farms. When I purchased her the breeder Mary burns said she would mail the papers as soon as she got them. I noticed my puppy not feeling well soon after we purchased her and we took her to the vet. The first vet said she would not make it so we took to another were they diagnosed her with parvovirus roundworms an bacterial infection! The vet said there was no way our puppy was given shots as Mary burns told us she had and gave us paperwork indicating this. Our puppy nearly passed away. Within 9 days of having her we had paid for the dog, 600 in vet bills from her staying overnight then weeks after for follow up treatment. Once we found out our puppy was sick we notifie Mary burns we stated in two weeks she would get her social security check and refund us the amount of the dog...it's now been 4 weeks no payment and we've made several calls. We advised yesterday we are seeking legal action and she said she would mail us a bad check that he didn't have the money in the bank but her bank would cash it. I'd love to hear from others and I wish I would have looked on here or known to before I purchased my dog. Just beware thanks!

We purchased a sheltie from Tasso Farms in May. He is a beautiful and loving sheltie and we absolutely love him! However, on our ride home with him we found a tick on him and we noticed he had thick crust on the tips of his ears. After taking him to the vet for his first appointment I found out he had mange. We had him treated several times until it was gone, but he lost the hair on his ears and nose. Our little guy is 6 months old now. Last week I noticed a popping sound when he walked. I took him to our vet and a surgeon last week for X-rays to learn he has serve hip dysplasia in both hips and will need total hip replacement in another 12 months. I would not trade my puppy for anything, but I would recommend NOT purchasing your next companion from Tasso Farms puppy mill.

No one should buy a dog from this breeder. Mary is not well herself thus impossible for her to take care of the eight different breeds she sells. I purchased a dog from her that had roundworms, hookworms, and whip worms. My puppy also had multiple social problems. Do not buy from this breeder. She needs to be put out of business for ths sake of her dogs she sells.

I bought my Sheltie Cooper from Mary in 2007. He is my Cancer dog, which kept me company while I underwent Prostate cancer treatment . He is a wonderful dog who has never had any genetic or breeder type problems. He goes to the Vet regularly and is in top health and was that way when I brought the dog home from Mary's. I am sorry you have had a difficult time but my experience was completely different and I would vouch for Mary even today.
