Sakura has started with a very UNFAIR rent policy. They lower rent prices to newer customer whereas MAINTAIN overpriced rent to long-term tenant. Currently Sakura House has lowered by 15, 000 yen my neighbors' rent, for aparently NO reason, but REFUSES to even talk about the issue with me.

Sakura House apartments are OLD, usually NO LONGER rentable to Japanese customers. Because foreigners have NO protection in Tokyo, they can be easily discriminated upon.

The Japanese Construction laws deem a house no longer safe against earthquakes if it was built before 1975. Sakura House rents these old places to foreigners who cannot rent any property from landlords who are extremely xenophobic.

Beware of Sakura House!

I am currently staying in Sakura House and I would highly discourage anyone from staying here. Basically their properties are the ones that are so crappy that Japanese natives won't live there. The place I am staying in now would never pass fire code in the US as the stairs are half the depth of my foot. I have fallen many times. There is also a serious mold problem. There is so much mold that it is growing fuzzy stuff on the bedding and our possessions. My housemates suitcase and $200 purse were destroyed. We are both healthy individuals, but have gotten sick from spores in our throats. All the while Sakura House has not helped at all, even going so far as to say that it is our fault. We first asked for help over 2 months ago and have been repeatedly contacting them since. They have MAJOR communication issues. They just brought in a dehumidifier two days ago. It is still incredibly moldy in the downstairs bedroom and kitchen.I am moving out in a week, but my housemate is not. So we went in to the office today to speak with a manager and see if she could switch to my room upstairs which is less moldy (the first floor is always moldier). Because they have serious communication issues among the staff, I would have hoped that the manager would try to rectify the situation or at least be civil. Not only did the manager refuse to let her switch rooms, but he also laughed at us, continually interrupted us, and said that we were lying saying "Prove it" despite the fact that we had photo evidence, doctors notes, etc. He even said he would "Call the cops" when we asked him to stop interrupting and laughing at us. He never said sorry and was the most condescending unbelievably disrespectful human being I have ever met.Among less serious issues would be the cockroach infestation, terrible lighting impossible for homework, terribly kept common areas (cleaning those areas are Sakura House's responsibility). There is hardly any kitchen cupboard space, certainly not enough for the four women in the apartment. There is also very little storage in the actual bedrooms. Staff also entered one of my housemates room without permission. That being said, there are lots of other options in Tokyo. My current housemate has been living in Tokyo for a long time and has never had any problems until she moved into Sakura House. Don't take the risk of damage to your personal belongings and of your health. Because at Sakura House, they really don't give ### about you.
