Larry and Greg Pence built our home in 2001. Our basement has flooded four times since we moved in October 2005. We have called the Pences to ask about the drainage and grading plans but they have never returned our calls. In addition, but unrelated to the flooding, they left the old driveway from the former house in our yard so the soil won't grow there. This is a $1.2 million home and we are very disappointed in the Pence brothers.

Our experience with the builder was minimal because we bought the house from the first owners who lived here for 2 years. We did have brief contact with Greg shortly after moving in but found him to be unresponsive. In the 9 years we've lived here, we have found countless problems, many of them plumbing related. As I type, I await the installation of a new toilet. The current toilet is in great shape, however it has been slowly leaking at the base because it is the wrong size! The pipes were put in too close to the wall and the toilet doesn't actually fit. I thought the wax ring needed to be replaced but the plumber found the wax in good shape and the toilet jammed too far into the wall. It has apparently been very slowly leaking for many years. They also installed pipes to the garbage disposal at the wrong angle which causes air to get trapped and the sink to clog. The out door spigot was not to code. The whole house has settled in very unsettling ways. The floor boards have buckled throughout the house. The finishes in the home are of the lowest quality. Lots of cutting corners. Glue oozing out around fireplace granite, moulding popping out, electrical issues, etc. Steer very clear of these guys!
