Breeder sold us a puppy declared to be "perfectly healthy." First of all, she had a parasite which was diagnosed after we got her home. Secondly, when vision problems were identified, the breeder refused to refund our money based on the warranty for this health issue.

Other health issues surfaced as the puppy grew, including awkward gait and very frequent biting with hard grasp, so that two veterinarians agreed (from different practices, as we sought a second opinion) that testing for kidney or bile duct problems was indicated. Bile acids were high, which could result in later organ dysfunction.

Vets recommended neurological exams, but costs of medical issues with the puppy were mounting, so we requested simply that the breeder refund us the cost of the puppy, while we would pay all other bills. Finally, we had to surrender the puppy to a rescue because her biting was endangering our child.
