I called today to find out the procedures of my lease ending. Thank God I called several months ahead of time. My small business is closing and I wanted to get everything in order and squared away to make everything smooth. I found out that my lease was a Fair Market lease (not their fault, the sellers and ultimately mine). However, when I informed them that I would just turn that machine back in, I was promplty informed that I was responsible for shipping it to them (WHAT?). So my buyout is $2600 for a machine that I have been paying $200 for 60 months. I was told they would contact me about returning it. Then I called back trying to get more information about returning it, i.e., the cost. I was told that I needed to contact shippers in my area to facilitate that. I said, Okay, Where will I have to ship it to? Customer Service would NOT tell me. Told me they will NOT released the shipping return address until last payment is made. So if I don't know how much it will cost to ship it to God knows where, how can I make a good, sound financial decision. She just kept saying, Will NOT release that info until last payment. What if I pay all payments now. Sorry, we still won't tell you until 30 days after your last payment.
This is absolutely absurd. Can they do this? I need to know where it is going before I can check shipping rates.

Oh, I wondered about that - after I have received bill showing monthly payment still due, I call. Their response, Oh, we have not received anything from Shippers - (by the way, it was their authorized shipper, which was turned out to be good (so far) because they seemed to be cheaper and loaded it up and shrink wrapped it, which I could not find anyone in this area that would do that). I called the shippers to ask about it and they still have not called me back - but I have not received anymore bills from Marlin requesting the payment, which she told me that would cease when the release was made by shippers. We took pictures of everything, including number of copies made - and ran the copier in front of shipper (the guys who picked it up) - had them sign a document that they witnessed it copying and in working condition. I was trying to cover all my basis with this company.
Thanks for your response.

We had a machine returned to them which they then said arrived broken and have charged us $200 to fix. they have not sent us any documentation on the repairs and cannot even tell us what is wrong with it. Make sure you insure it when you do send it! It is my opinion that this company charges everbody something when a machine is returned!
