Beware subcontractors. Icon Builders does not like paying their Subs for work completed. Do not let your lien rights expire. Do not let Icon Building group get you too deep into the hole. Be prepared to lien the house and keep them honest about payment on jobs.

Home buyers should also be aware of the fact that the sub contractors building their homes may not be getting paid and that there may be a lien on the new home you just bought. it is necessary to proceed with caution when dealing with Icon Building Group from Algonquin, Illinois

I have had 4 contractors work for ICON and none of them complained about payments, in fact even though one of my paint contractors did a poor job, ICON redid it for the client and made payments to both the contractors from their pocket. The CEO of this company is a honest man, he goes extra mile to understand the needs of the customer and most time the customers have complex needs, but he ensure he makes them satisfied with the work and pricing. Absolutely a great company .

Wow! Couldn't disagree with John's (above) comments. i couldn't have had a better experience building with Icon. The owner of the company spent countless hours with us. I found him honest, helpful and true to his word. Every project has its difficulties but we felt they were dealt with quickly and fairly. Great experience alltogether and an amazing home

Be careful with your dealings with this company. The CEO is a snake and only cares about money. Puts a facade of being a family man, gives lollipops to your kids and makes you think you have a trusted company taking care of you and your home or remodel project.

Make sure you have an attorney and all details are outlined on your contract before signing any commitments with this company. Once he has your money, you are screwed and he will hold your home hostage and charge you for any delays, even though he delayed the completion date for your home or remodel.

Once they take your money they ignore you. Very unprofessional and rude. There manners and attitude towards their customers is just as nasty and uncivilized as their office. Irresponsible people that don't finish their work.

I have been a subcontractor with icon for over 5 years now! I can say they are the most honest contractor I have yet to work with. Never ones has there been an issue with payment. Yes at times there is a wait time but that's standard in our industry it's simply called draw system. Unless you have not delivered as promised and yes many of the folks in and out of their projects promise the world to get the contract and deliver a fraction. Don't let comments as the one above deter you from considering working with ICON BG.

Does your contract with Icon hold you liable in case of liens?

I'm just curious how they can do this? Doesn't the title company handle those payments? We're close with building with icon and this concerns us.
